Need help on getting dashboard back to a nice flat non-slippery finish.

There are a lot of great interior products that will keep the dash and trim clean with a matte finish. I've used Nextzett Cockpit Premium on most of my cars and been very happy with it. If you need to clean off another product that's already on the dash and microfibers + water aren't cutting it you may also want to pick up an All Purpose Cleaner from Meguiars or Optimum Power Clean (just make sure to dilute either of those appropriately).

I've always heard that Woolite diluted to a 10:1 ratio of water:woolite works well as a gentle cleaner. Use that first to remove any slimy products already on the dashboard.

I now use 303 Protectant. If it is applied in accordance with instructions (wipe it on, wait a few minutes, wipe it off) it provides good protection without being shiny and/or slimy.

Sounds like somebody bought in to the armor all mythology (remember the TV ad where the guy drives away and a crew jumps out to clean all the armor all smutz off the driveway?). Besides Meguiars previously mentioned, Griot's Garage products are excellent. Both have a wide range of car care products.

when I bought a Miata in 95 they gave a free subscription to a magazine about the car

they recommended TWO products for preserving the vinyl 'vert top.

303 .......

and Zymol

I've used Z for years .... my Miata top was good as gold at 12 years when I sold the car ..... I use Z on my MiNi's
