dr. pepper vs. mini interior

by the way,i have a cloth gray interior

well, during lucnh today, i managed to pour my whole dr. pepper drink from the cup to the driver's seat, as well as the floor in the back seat.

now the question is, what the heck do i do? my seat is now dry and im pretty sure it is stained, because i now have a 3-tone seat, and the back floor is still kinda wet, been soaking it up as much as i can.

so suggestions please, main concern is trying to take the stain off the my seat

thanks

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger on this one, I've done something similar before. You can clean the seat with some upholstery cleaner (I used the stuff made by Turtle Wax) and it should come out good as new. Sadly, the carpet's another matter. It too can be cleaned but, to do it right, you'll have to pull the seat.

Underneath my passenger seat is the spilled contents of one Red Bull, and in the passenger front footwell is about 8 ounces of fountain-dispensed Mountain Dew. You can safely say that MM2 is "caffeinated"!

I got a medley of garden vegetables (...in special house vinaigrette) dumped (...by a passenger) between my e-brake and passenger seat. Once cleaned up, it was actually cleaner than before, although that particular passenger has NEVER again graced the interior of my MINI, or............ever...........will.

Good luck on the cleanup!!

(I never drink or eat in my MINI.)

Yup....this is a prime example as to why not food or drink is to be consumed in my vehicles by me or anyone. There's been enough incidents in the past to steer clear of it by banning it altogether. Started with that rule with my laast vehicle......a '01 SVT Lightning. Those have suede seats. That made me nervous when others would get in. Never know where they've been, or what they're tracking in.
Better luck in the future. Could have been worse though.
Cheers,

mmmm... Red Bull. One of the things I like about Red Bull is that until recently, it was the only brand of energy drink available in a sugar-free variety. If the sugar-free version spills on dark fabric, there's no sticky residue once it dries.

The company that makes the stuff has a perfect advertising opportunity in MINI: they could do a real "Red Bull gives you 'Wings!' " promotion, with a MINI as the grand prize. A game piece would be attached to each can. It'd make every can a caffeinated, $2 instant "mini-lotto" ticket!

BTW, I also love the way the little rubber "fingers" in the MINI cup holders fit the can, even though it's so narrow.

My two incidents were from beverage in-transport, not being consumed! The Red Bull got punctured by the seat rail going through The Dragon! Not even a sealed can is safe, haa haa.

An airplane attendant suggested club soda.
It works. Soak that section of seat fabric in club soda using a sponge.
Be careful to only soak to the seam line to limit the area, as the soda
pushes outward making a larger spot.
Place a clean white towel on it, to soak up the excess soda. One
time was enough, looks great and the car had 6,600 miles on it.

I dumped 2 gallons of coffee from a broken glass thermos liner into the floor well of my old Mazda Protege. After vaccuming out with a shop vac (wet-vac), I kept pouring warm water into the well until the water ran clean (10-12 five-gallon buckets of water) when sucked up with the vac.

After this procedure, I left the car in the garage with the windows down and a fan blowing to circulate the air until dry. I then cleaned the entire carpet with upholstry cleaner (any WalMart, Target, ect. in Auto Department) and the coffee stain was gone

BradB advised me to get the 303 Cleaner. I got it from Classic Motoring.com.

It did wonders on my passenger carpet that suffered from a spill-a full crock pot of cocktail weiners soaking in a mixture of bbq sauce, grape jelly, and Franks hot sauce!
Good luck
