I had clearbra on my Jetta for 2 years. It pealed right up on a warm day once I started the corner. The finish was different between the two areas, but with a little wash/wax it all came back to looking uniform.

The thing I'd worry about is paint fade from 2 years of bonnet stripes.

I agree. It's an easy job.

I install Xpel on a regular basis and remove it as well. To ease the process, warm the film with a hairdryer and then gently pull.

Excess glue residue, if any, can be removed with isopropol alcohol (rubbing alcohol).

Then rewax the surface.
I have never had a fade issue. But you may need to polish the area since the area under the film will be perfect and the surrounding area may have more swirls or scratches.

BradB, do you have a clear bra on your MINI?

How many owners do you think have them? I am considering.

Yes. And I am SO glad I do. It has saved me from chips a zillions times. I have ZERO chips on my car. I have the film on the front bumper, hood, headlights, fogs and mirrors. It's virtually invisible unless you are looking 6" away. I love the stuf. I have it on all my cars.

The Carrera has it on the headlights, front bumper, hood, mirrors, wheel arches front and rear and leading half of rear fender bulges.

The Audi S4 has it on the front bumper and headlights.

Does it cover the entire hood?

I assume you use the Zaino right over the bra?

It covers the hood up beyond the scoop and you can zaino over everything.

just got my second mini 2 days ago, and it has an old clear bra. the bonnet part is still in good condition, but the pieces on the mirrors were really discolored, and the piece on the hood scoop is really cracked and is taking forever to remove.
they do a great job of protecting the body, but if yours starts to look cracked, remove it before it gets too bad! it breaks off in little pieces ugh!

I removed a badly dried out, cracked, faded "Screaming Chicken" decal that was on a 70's era Trans Am hood. I was able to do it with a hot-water/steam pressure washer set to low pressure. It's mainly the heat your after to soften the petrified adhesive and there is less chance of overheating and damaging your paint when using hot water or wet steam. This was helped along with a rigid plastic scraper. Be very careful because the paint will soften significantly with any heat.

I took delivery of my '13 Hardtop 3 days ago and would like to put a clear bra on it...anyone recommend a source for this?
