Have to say, I was skeptical about the quick detailing sprays that I've heard about, but I bought the offering from Meguiars and I've been using it for the past month.

I'm a believer now. I get the surface dust with the California Duster, and then give it the detailing spray every other day or so. I can't believe how much longer a car wash will "last." It still looks clean 7-10 days after the wash, and in dusty, grimey SoCal, that's no small achievement.

I agree with you my IB/W MCS looks good for a long time using this spray.

In my case it is being used over a Zaino application.

You ought to try some of the other detailing sprays on the market, too. MOTHERS makes a good one and so does 3M. I have used them both and they work equally well however MOTHERS smells better...

Yeah, what's in that quick detailer anyway??? Mother's smells like"red hots" candy to me. Eagle One quick detailer smells sweet, too. (...can't quite place the smell, though.) I used to get all kinds of bugs hovering over my MINI after quick detailing with Eagle One! With Mother's I just get flash backs to some kind of holiday punch.

I'm new at this detailing stuff - I'll get there eventually. I've had my car a week, it hasn't been washed yet. Is the detailing spray safe to use now? Do I have to wash the car first? What do you wipe the spray off with? Thanks!

Detailing spray shouldn't be used on a very dirty car, but it needn't be just washed. Wipe with a microfiber towel.

For detailing tips check out CMA/properautocare and autopia.

I use a hand washed terry towel to detail spray with.I do my windows first to soften the towel some .water rolls off the windscreen ,and bugs wipe off with a damp terry cloth.I like using hand washed terry for most all cleaning tasks

I'm an avid user of Quik Detailer as well. I use it every day, several times a day. Everytime I see a big splotch or any gunk on my paint, I spray it on and wipe it off. I use thick microfiber towels to keep my finish dust free. I'm also in SoCal and washing my car is needed only about once every 3 weeks, and thats usually cause I need to hose off all the brake dust accumulation.

I use Quik Detailer on my white wheels too, and it works great. Prep the wheels with some NXT, then use QD and it comes right off. I can use 2 Blue paper towels to clean all 4 wheels.

Spend a little time every day wiping the dust and bug doo off and you'll be greatly rewarded with a clean sparkling MINI everytime you go out!

Well I guess it doesn't hurt to live in "paradise"! Year round good weather, no worries about salt, snow, tornados. Instead lots of traffic, smog, and a few earthquakes--but nothing the MINI can't handle.

Paradise! Winter in Manitoba, Canada is actutally quite cold with lots of snow and subsequently salt.

Well ,actually it is so cold here salt does not work most of the time, just lots of gravel ,and unless you can get indoors ,no hand washing
