Lets see the rest and how it stands upto the weather. I have used KIWI on seats before with lots of good luck. So I am curious now with the trim.

Is it kiwi black or clear?

My one year old jeep looks terrible.

Has anyone tried that new "As seen on TV" stuff for trim? I doubt it's as good as they say, but it's gotta be better than what I've got--faded trim pieces.

Black wow
when used right is very impressive....many folks overapply it, thinking it is like amour-all, but a few drops will do an entire car....
Several auto friendly dyes are made that will not rub off on a hot day and make a mess...
Back to black comes to mind if i have the name right...kinda,like a black dye that dries...

back to black works too and black wow. But they tend to fade quickly with washes and weather. This is equivalent to buying RIT dye and boiling the plastic in it so it absorbs into the plastic. (I used to dye lacrosse heads and other plastic things)

I hope it lasts a long time...but since the plastic is not like leather...i kinda doubt it will last..it is just a dried surface application.....no boiling like you said to help it absorb. Please keep us posted....

This should work fairly well. Griots sells pretty much the same thing labeled as trim restorer and charges much more for it, so I don't see why the Kiwi dye would be any different.

Kudos to giving this a shot and let us know how it holds up!

Seems like a good idea. I may try this on my roof trim where the fading is the most noticeable.

Completely useless unless you have time to apply it once a week. If it even lasts that long.

I use this religiously, I also live in Florida with the unrelenting sun. It lasts for a while and isn't too greasy. You also have to use the 'less is more' mentality or youll end up with greasy trim pieces that like to attract dust.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I really apprciate it. I was asking because I have a little white residue on my left side fender. I don't know how it got there but it was from the shop that repaired my car when I crashed it.

Try cleaning he trim pieces with an all purpose cleaner and a small brush. If it doesn't come off with that then you may need to dye it.

I don't like back to black because it attracts dust, lesser longevity than other products and contains alcohol so you have to be very careful not to get any on the paint as it'll then remove your wax.

That Lower Grill is looking alittle tired too so you may want to apply some
Kiwi there also !

Thanks for making this post as I have tried Mothers, Black Wow, and various other trim products that just don't last.

Now we can expect to see "Kiwi Trim Restorer" in the automotive section; at a much higher price than the shoe polish.

In addition I bet the Kiwi does not attract dust or leave that oily film that comes off on your clothes if you're lucky enough to get to close to the trim. . . . . . . . . . .

I did this myself yesterday, I believe it turned out quite well! I'll need to add more, and possibly use masking tape, as I was a little worried about going too close to the paint!

Not sure if anybody remembers, but Kiwi had a line of car care products on the market about 20 years ago. I believe it only lasted for two years...but I remember everything being very good quality. Guess they didn't sell enough to keep making it.

Please keep up us updated! I'm intrigued to see how long it lasts and what the runoff might look like.

Thanks!

Black Wow + Pre wow combination. Follow instructions to a T (seems that most people have a lot of trouble with this) and you will have a 'factory new' looking trims. Not that 'just glossed' greasy look that 9 out of 10 products use.

I am starting my bi-annual Pre-Wow/Black Wow treatement this week since the weather is warming up. I swear by both. YOU MUST FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS EXACTLY AS POSTED on the Black Wow bottle to get it to last. A little goes a long way. My R53 is not garaged and it has been my daily driver for the last 2 years. I started using Back 2 Black and would have to apply every other week. I used Black Wow and it lasted for 6 months. I am sort of OCD so taking my time applying it is no problem for me.
