Why not just go with the touch up paint from MINI? It's not that expensive and at least you know it'll match properly.

You know, we finally had a warm day here in Ohio yesterday and I hand cleaned the cars and this past years Winter was NOT good on my Mini.. I have a TON of little chips in my bonnet this year.. Might look into the Dr Paint Chip stuff for the small stuff and the Mini Cooper Touchup Paint for the bigger ones.

Dr Color Chip works great for rash. You will still see it up close. I'd get a bottle of touchup paint for the larger chips. Just don't over fill.

I had a small chip on the front bumper and a tear on my sport stripes within the first two weeks I had my Pepper White Roadster. I used Dr Color Chip on the bumper and it worked great. You can't see it unless you get up very close but even then you are only seeing the uneven spot in the paint. The color is a perfect match. I used some black touchup paint to fix the tear in the stripe. It doesn't look as good as the Dr Color Chip repair but is barely noticeable. After repairing the damage, I immediately had a clear bra installed.

Had a lot of paint chips on my Bimmer, that's not going to happen with my new MINI if I can help it. I'm getting a clear bra installed before I pick it up.

+1 on the clear bra, definitely a worthwhile investment if you are worried about paint chips. My clear bra was factory installed but it still looks good, and has kept my front end looking nice. Front end shape of the MINI is very prone to chips

You are right that its not cheap but as you say well worth it. I believe I paid $850 for the full bonnet/front fenders, front bumper, headlight lenses and bang strips on the doors. You can save a bit if you get the half bonnet.
