Folks,

I am about to embark on my frist Zaino experience. I memorized the instructions sent with my package. I going all the way the with the clay bar first, I plan to use ZFX with either polish, but I don't know if to use Z2 or Z5. The color of my car is Indi Blue and the instructions on Z5 says it works great on clear coated dark colored cars. I know Z2 is intended for clear coated cars, but so is Z5!!!. I plan to use Z6 to finish off the first coat. I would love to hear the input of all you Zainophyles

Cheers

z5 is used to hide minor swirl marks and add depth to the look...z2 is what gives you the shine....typically what I'll do is do one coat of z5, one coat of half z5 and half z2 mixed up, and then the final coat of z2....then after that when I want to add more coats I add just z2. Use ZFX in with these and then use z6 between coats....always finish with a coat of z2 then z6.

easy question! Start with the Z5 for about 3 coats, then switch to the z2 for the top coat or 2. Always finish with the Z2, as it has higher optical properties and will really finish off the shine. If you are using ZFX, you will pretty much be able to get 4-5 coats on in a day if you have the car someplace warm and dry. If you are doing it out in the cold weather right now, bless you for your dedication! If it's less than 60 degrees in your work enviroment, give at least 3-4 hours cure time between coats.

Good directions are at http://www.zainobros.com

Just curious. I don't have my MINI yet, but plan on applying Zaino Z1 & Z2 (that I got for Christmas). Do you suggest before I start Z-ing, I should do the claybar first? Being that it's a new car, will I need to worry about wheither or not the dealer applied some-sort-of polish/wax to the car?

Yes, by all means begin with a claybar treatment. Nothing like starting wit a clean slate. The clabar is not only good for removing old wax, it's great for overspray, road grime, etc. It will make your finish smoother than a baby's behind. Do the glass also.

Since you have Z1 go ahead and use that...but for future purchases I would suggest using XFX instead of Z1. Z1 was what they originally came up with but since then they introduced ZFX which is an accelerator that you add to z2 and z5 and you don't need to use z1. When using z1 your drying times will be greatly increased. No worries the shine etc will still look amazing..but for future time savings use the zfx...it is spendy but you only use a couple drops per coat mixed in with the z2 or z5.

Additionally I would recommend reading http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/...p;Store_Code=Z

Been raining like crazy here! I have about 7 coats between Z5 and Z2 in my '04 MCS....1 more coat of Z2 coming up as soon as I get to wash the car next week.

Infosec: Where are you? In Miami or Ft Lauderdale?
