Swirls... I give up

you really need to be careful on how much clear you are taking off your car. it seems you have done multiple passes and while the scratches are still there, just caution how much clear you are taking off.

And do more damage to your car??!! For one both the Yellow Pad (harshest) and the Prima Cut (like Sand Paper) are not the answer at least not at the same time.

Have you watched or even checked out Octane Guys website, watched any videos on how to properly care for you MINIs paint?? If not I'd start there until you have a clear idea about what each product does and how to properly apply it.

Just my 2 cents!!

i've pretty much given up on trying to get swirls out. it was taking too long and i was getting nowhere. my technique was fine. oh well, i can't say i didn't try.

I hear you, man.

But you know what people around here are going to say. "You're technique is suspect... You used the wrong combination of products. You didn't watch enough videos... You're Porter-Cable is made in China... You just suck, so take it to a pro."

When there's just as much discussion regarding "proper" washing technique to prevent swirls and "proper" removable of swirls, you have to wonder whether either is a solution to the problem. I mean, logically, the former should negate the necessity for the latter.

Even with perfect washing technique, if you drive your car, you will get swirls.
