Hey Guys,

I just bought a black mini....I have a custom truck that has alota coats of clear over a very wet paint job and it's so easy to keep clean and streak free using slick stuff a detialer I like... Gezzz the mini is so hard to keep clean and it seems to surface scratch from the towels and chamois I use...

I just order a buffing towel and a one of those weave drying towels to try....

Any tips for me....this black is tough

It seems like the only way to get the swirls out is to polish it....you can't even hit it with detialer without it strecking schmearing........ARRRRRGGGG

Thanks
Bob

Hey bobbyn...we meet again! erik808 and I are two of the few black minis in Hawaii. I used to polish my own car, but since this is my first black as well....I've opted to take it to a detailer (I don't know how to polish correctly and I'm lazy).

Anyways, NAM has some cleaning products....if they got um, try using a microfiber towel and see if that scratches. I use microfiber, and have never gotten scratches, but I bought mine from another source. I hear shamois are terrible....but I've had no bad experienced personally.

Good luck...and post some pics soon!

My Jet Black over Jet Black is on order.

Nothing looks better than an all black clean & polished car.....but they do get dirty very, very fast.

And yes, my new MINI is replacing a black car!

i have the same problem with mine. the black does look good though, especially with my white wheels, but that's a whole other cleaning subject on it's own.

I find that it's all about a goooood coat of wax often, and a California Car Duster!

You could go so far as to clearing the car over the factory, PPG makes compatible clears, I believe... best to contact MINI... you can eliminate orange peel in the process.

Hey Gang,

Thanks for the replys.....I bought a Ultimate Drying Towel from North American Car Care / The Perfect Shine....and its the best thing I ever ryed my car with 100 x's better than the chamois...a little pricey but I'll never go back to a chamois again...

I leaves such very litle water that it just evaporates...I can dry the whole mini with out wringing it out!

Cool stuff...any other cleaning waxing products out there?

Bobbyn

Look into Zaino Bros' Show Car Polish.

I’ve been doing some research and it sure seems like Zaino Bros is in a class by it’s self. It’s really not a wax – more like a deep & wet looking polish. Their web site is http://www.zainobros.com
