Wow for Black Magic... on everything!
Wow for Black Magic... on everything!
I've occasionally seen people with very shiny black tires and I've always wondered how they got them to look like that. I've tried a bunch of tire cleaning products and even black magic tire cleaner but the deep black shine never lasts more than a day.
Well the other day I bought black magic interior UV protectant/cleaner for my wheel trim. During my wheel trim application some got on the tire and I noticed it was very dark and somewhat shiny. So a few days later I applied the black magic to all the black trim on my car including the rubber seals around the rear window and roof. I also cleaned my tires w/ some tire foam and then applied the black magic to them.
I must say I am very impressed! It's been 3 days and the tires are deep black and shiny. I know black magic sells "tire wet" stuff and I haven't tried it yet. It wasn't my original plan to do the tires and so I didn't get that. I don't think you can use the tire wet stuff on other parts.
I bought this stuff at wally world for pretty cheap it's called "Pro-shine" or something like that. I also put it on my old saturn's center "tail light" that is faded and it made that shine pretty well. If you get any on the paint it doesn't hurt it, just makes a greasy mark.

Tire Wet, ArmorAll, etc.....I've used all the common name tire shine products out their and the only one that I found that works at all (doesn't collect a lot of dirt or leave the tires brown) is Meguiars Hot Shine.
I know that some of the vendors on here have products that are probably just as good or better than the Hot Shine, I just haven't had the opportunity to try them

It has finally come off for the most part... it's still dark but not as shiny. I was spraying hot wheels cleaner on my rims and some got on the tire. Pressure washing took it off.
Kemo I was in the same boat as you... I just used something that didn't specifically state it was for tires.
