I'm going to look at an 07 Mini S this afternoon. I called the salesman to ask him about the body condition. He told me there is a small dent in the rear fender (probably no big deal, my neighbor does paintless dent removal) and the black hood stripes are faded. Has anybody removed and replaced hood stripes? Is it difficult to get them alligned nicely? Is removal an option or will there likely be fade lines in the paint. It is the cream white color.

Sounds like you're looking at a Pepper White MINI. I've been tempted to remove mine and have done some research. Evidently they are not too terribly difficult to remove with a regular blow-dryer and some patience. There are several sources for unique graphics that you can put back in the same place. Some of the darker colors have more "ghosting" than the pepper white...the amount or severity will depend on how much it's been exposed to the elements. Good Luck. If you get it you can search the threads and talk to some of the vendors on NAM...they're great resources.

 

i removed checkers from my roof that have been there since 2003, obviously white roof.
once take off, clayed, and waxed, you would never tell there was anything there....

stripes were removed as well (jet black), and well....you can totally tell where they were from the ghosting, but ill get rid of that somehow with some buffing hopefully, but have been planning to put flat black stripes
