Clay bar the wheels?

Has anyone ever clay bar'ed their wheels? It seems like a natural progression if you are going to clay bar your car. Thoughts? Concerns? Experience? Yes/No?

Due to the amount of deposits of brake dust which would end up in the bar. I would just keep one bar aside for wheels, one for the MINI's paint surface. keep their containers clearly marked.

Most definitely. In fact, the next time you drop your bar of clay, don't throw it away. Set it aside as a "wheel clay".

How good does it work. Also what do use for light scratches on painted and powdercoated rims

Depends on what you are trying to remove. It works great when removing contamination that can be removed with clay bar.

You can rub out or buff painted/powdercoated rims by hand or a small orbital buffer like a Metabo SXE400 polisher. Otherwise, not much else as gaining access is usually the hardest part on wheels.

Well a wax won't get out scratches because it just protects, unless you use a wax with fillers. Are you really that concerned with light scratches on your wheels? How did they get there in the first place? You're going to have to make sure you don't put them back in.

You can polish out very light scratches by hand using Prima Swirl.

I normally wax my wheels with Prima Hydro because it's easy to do.

Yes, I have thoughts about it. No concerns about doing it. Yes, I have done it for years to many kinds of wheels.
