Meguiars new cheap packaging!

So, I went into my local Tijuana, oh I mean Walfart, oh I mean Walmart store today. I hate the place, but I was close, my MINI was getting wet in the rain and I needed some car care stuff so I could clean her up and put her in the garage. When I came to the car car section, I was almost knocked over by what I saw. I saw a bunch of Meguiars products in the cheapest and most horrrible looking plastic bottles and packaging that I have ever seen. Nothing close to the high class packaging that I am used to. I mean this stuff literally looked like something you would find in the 99 cent store. I didn't buy it because I was actually affraid it was counterfeit. So, I bought some Ice Detailer. I really like it and will be using it for now on. But, what is up with that chit? I know some companies make some stuff just for Walfart, oh I mean Walmart. And I think in every case they are a cheaper version. Has Meguiars sold out to Walmart? If that's the case, my love affair with maguiars products is going to be over.

Actually with respect to Walmart practices, they dictate to the manufacturer how much they will pay for their products. The manufacturer either agrees to sell it to Walmart at that price or Walmart does not put it on their shelves.....

Could be to offset the lower costs to Walmart, they package their products by less expensive means for Walmart shelves ?

Reason why I say that is because I was in an Advanced Auto yesterday and the Meguires products seemed to be packaged and labeled same as before.

if you're going to walmart to get detailing goods, then the meguiar's with cheap packaging is perfect for you. like going to kmart to buy 'real' tools and furniture.

Nothing wrong with going to Walmart to pick up some detailing stuff. They have plenty of products we all use like carwash soap or QD or tire/wheel dressing or simple green, painters tape, wash buckets, etc.... It is nice to not have to order everything from the internet. In fact I just picked up some more Gold Class Carwash Soap from their clearance rack! Does that make me cheap? Or smart for paying less?

I do care how it is packaged. I have had a couple problems with their spray bottles. I don't want to be buying spray bottles that are of poorer quality.

I would agree 100%. So they aren't snap-op or MAC, but you also don't have to chase a truck down to get the tools. Any tool company that will replace most broken tools no questions asked is alright with me.

IMHO buying your meguires products from Walmart for a couple of bucks cheaper is the smart way to go.
