Water spots on Mirrors

Hey all,

Has anyone found a tried and true product/method for safely cleaning exterior mirrors that have water spots? I've tried a couple of different glass cleaners (including the foaming kind), and I can't seem to get the mirrors totally clean.

Ideas? Thanks!

Try white vinegar soaked papertowel. Let mirror soak for good 5min.

Try claybar.

Try ScratchX or any mild polish.

Try jumping up and down with both hands up in the air.

Try dancing in circle.

Use Windex on a piece of newspaper. No lint and no spots.

Newspaper? That's a new one to me I'd go with any of Kenchan's answers, he knows his stuff. I've used the vinegar method before, works great.

yah, not to forget the mirror 'glass' scratch pretty easily... rubbing with newspaper is the last thing that comes to mind when you're ready to sell the car.

im not even sure if the mirror is actual glass based on the scratches the dealer put on when they washed my MCS while it was a demo car.

I've had excellent results with Malco water spot remover. I bought it at NAPA.

I agree with Ken, vinegar works great for me. I buy it in gallon form from Costco. The Heinz brand, lol.

Mineral deposits are easily removed with vinegar, but any etchings caused by those mineral deposits won't be helped by any product designed to remove water spots, vinegar included.
