Removing the Stripes

Has anyone removed the stripes from the Bonnet ?

Got any pointers ?

I was thinking of trying it on a nice warm day and also using a hair dryer to assist.

Let me know how you went about it ........................

You got it. Use a hair dryer, and just work 'em slowly. It's actually not as painful as you might imagine.

Its actually very easy. Use a good hair dryer and start at one end. You'll notice the stripe gets stretchy as it heats up. Just pull at about a 90+ degree angle and it comes off without leaving any residue.

Pulled mine off on a nice warm day, still it took a bit to get off. Be prepared (if the stripes have been on there a long time) for ghost stripes. At first I freaked when I saw them. My car is an '02, and the stripes have been on there since day one (standard ralley). I thought the paint had faded around them, but it didnt, it was just like wax or something. I clayed the hood, and they were gone (thank God)!
Car looked naked after all those years (summer '02-summer '09)! Now I have the double black Shelby style stripes...with no traces of what once was!
