I parked my MCS in a parking lot next to a lawn on a hot day. Well the gardener decided to water the lawn that afternoon. When I returned to my car some 2 hours later, I found the drivers side bonnet and roof covered in large water spots. I immediately took the car to the best local car wash and asked them to wash it and remove the spots. Well, when it was done it looked great. However, I can still see remnants of the spots in certain light. Does any one have a recommentation on how to get them out of the paint?

Thanks,

Paul Jones

Paul,
I just hate it when that happens!

You may want to try some quick detailer. Click here...

It should do the trick.
Hope this helps,
SW

By the way.... I currently use Meguiar's Final Inspection. It works great for a price that's not too steep.

Quick Detailer works pretty good for this, but if they were really baked on your only option is to dilute some white vinegar (35-50% with water) and give the car a good rub down. Vinegar will get rid of water spots brilliantly, but will take your wax with it. Do definitely rewax any areas of the paint you rub down with vinegar.

MacGuires (spelling? I know it's wrong) Instant Detailer and a micro-fiber towel work for me....but only if the car is already clean.....

Buy a couple bottle of white vinegar (~$1), pour them in a pan with an equal amout of warm water.

Soak a hand towel in it, then lay the towel on the spots.

Rinse after 5 minutes and dry.

You may have to clay the car. If that doesn't work you will have no choice but to polish it. Keeping a good coat of quality wax on the car will help prevent this in the future.
