I'm looking for something to clean the engine bay as well as the undercarriage/wheel wells. Through some research, I've found the Meguiar's All Purpose Cleaner (APC), and Adam's Polishes has a similar product. Adam's also has some undercarriage spray. The other solution I've read it to use diluted Simple Green. It seems these should be applied using a boar's hair brush, so I'll probably have to get one of those as well. What about rinsing the engine bay with a water hose after application? Is it safe?

Anyone with any experience with these products give any insight or recommendations?

 

Simple Green, let sit for minute then hose off.......when engine is cold btw....

 

for the engine itself try some CD-2 engine cleaner. you can find it at autozone. Some really good stuff.

 

I use a fairly weak dilution of Simple Green on the engine bay. For the past 5 years or so that is all I've used for engine cleaning. It has worked very well for me. Once done I spray the engine compartment with Griots undercarriage spray. When done the engine compartment looks new.
