Got a "not very deep" scratch on one of the chrome rings around the headlight. I had read earlier that most/all of the "chrome" is really plastic coated with something that resembles chrome, so I'm looking for advice as to what to use to polish the scratch out.

Searched the forums (I must not be putting in the right combination of words!) but couldn't find anything so any help is appreciated!

try PlasticX on a foam pad.

 

I'm eager to hear more on this as well since I have the same issue for one of my headlamp rings.

 

Sure, ScratchX on foam pad will also work. So will mild polishes.

If you can catch the scratch on your fingernails it'll be faster to replace it or paint it over.
