Wool glove premature shedding

My wool glove is shedding. I've never had one wear out this fast. Could freezing temps in my garage have caused this? Otherwise, I guess I just bought the wrong glove.

Depends on what you bought and where you bought it. Wash mitts vary WIDELY in quality levels. Top quality mitts (from the detailing specialty retailers) should last a LONG time with proper care. Ones from discount stores and auto parts stores... not necessarily so...

There is quite a quality difference between wool mitts.

Also, and probably more importantly, it depends on how you care for it. Although freezing doesn't usually harm wool mitts, harsh chemicals can. Wool mitts should always be rinsed out thoroughly after use and then allowed to air dry. Avoid harsh washings too, such as in a machine washer.

Or, even a mitt from a high quality manufacturer that has been properly taken care of could be a lemon. Maybe the sheep from which it was taken was in bad shape!

Well then, since I always rinse and air dry the mitt, and never machine wash it, I guess I'll attribute the early demise to poor tanning or a sheep with bad nutrition.

I noticed my black wool mitt didn't last that long and I took good care of it. Trying microfiber this time around but think I'll switch back soon.
