Has anyone have idea or suggestion regarding paint protection for a MINI? I heard of dealers selling perma plate paint protection is this any good? Any inputs are welcome.

jceviche,
IMO it's not worth it.
It's very much over priced.....
It doesn't last.....

My advice.... if you are comfortable detailing your own vehicle is to buy a good detailing system (McGuires, Mother's, or Zaino) and do the work your self. With the right know how.... you can do a much better job at a much cheaper price. Also... using a good product such as Zaino would likely offer better (longer lasting) protection and shine as well.

Hope this helps.....
SW

jceviche,

I've used Zaino's on my 98 Corolla. I believe I used 2 coats of polish on it that day. The neighbors thought I was nuts until they saw how good the "Ol' Reliable" looked. The shine is unbelievable. I can't wait to use it on MINI when she arrives.

BTW, Zaino's does have a product for the rubber bits and tires. I can't remember the name of it but it doesn't leave the rubber/tires looking like you shined them with Vasoline.

Sfiveten....thanks for that link....I haven't been able to locate any Zaino information anywhere....my boyfriend has been working on VW's for years and when I mentioned the product name to him, he looked at me like I was crazy because I don't think he's ever heard of it.....I am currently a Zymol user myself, but I would like to try something new.....

MCS came delivered with the top Zymol, Zaino Bros. is easier to apply, lasts longer, and shines better. http://www.zainobros.com, they have several local dist. around the country, ask when contacting.

Zaino may be more available than you realize. Just email Sal: sal@zainobros.com, to get the contact info for a distributor near you. Lots of info at http://www.zainobros.com. The recently published Guru Report Wax Test is another resource for taking a comparative look at products in the market place. You can get that report for about $15 from http://www.gurureports.org.

Just go to Kragens on Stevens Creek and Keily they've got it. Bought some just yesterday and if you get it on the fender skirts, just rub a little longer and it comes right off.
