Of course I decided on Jet Black, one of the most labor intensive colors MINI offers. So while I wait for the labor of love to arrive which product line is best? What are the "must have" products to keep in my detail arsenal? You must understand, i'm coming from the point in detailing where I use what ever I have on hand from work related supply. When I need wax I usually pick something up from Walmart. I wont use just anything for my MCS so please point me in the right direction.

Check out this thread to help you decide. my opinion is, of course Zaino. And it shows off black best of all. Prep time is intensive but future applications go much much faster. Good luck on your choice.

You will hear from diehards on all sides of this issue, the most vocal being Zaino, Zymol, and Maguires. But whichever way you go, a search on this forum will give you the "must-have" products for a particular line.

That said, one vote for Zaino.

while i personally believe zaino and p21s are the best two chioces - either if you want sythetic or natural waxes...but the biggest thing is you willingness to care for it....you could use off the shelf junk from walmart and really take care of your car, washing and waxing often etc and have a better looking car then someone that uses zaino once every 2 years and washes maybe once every two months.

Hey fins,

I realize this is a bit off topic but did you see my response to your question about the rims in the thread about "show your shine"? I'm trying to find a source for the Konigs, you know of any sponsors selling them?

So is the Zaino Bro's web site the best place to get the products? What do you suggest as a base of products?

I went with the ZAINO and ZYMOL LINE OF PRODUCTS. I would suggest the following to buy from the Zainostore.com website: ZKIT-1 contains all the items listed below.

ZAINO BROS PROTECTION SHOW CAR KIT

ZFX™ Flash Cure Accelerator Additive
Z-2™ Show Car Polish for Clear Coated Car Finishes
Z-5™ Show Car Polish for Swirl Marks and Fine Scratches
Z-6™ Ultra Clean Gloss Enhancer Spray
Z-7™ Show Car Wash
Z-18™ ClayBar
& TWO Zaino Bros' Custom Polish Applicator for FREE!

Code: ZKIT-1
Price: $84.70

You won't be disappointed with this kit. I personally love Zaino for it's unbeatable gloss and protection factors and Zymol for its deep wet looking shine. I use the Zaino products then top it off with my remaining jar of Zymol "carbon" wax and I have the best of both worlds with this combo. It's just my opinion that Zymol and P21s "waxes" bring out the color of the car more than just Zaino alone.

Good luck and show us pics when you've put on your coats of Zaino okay!

i have to agree with pooky here - zaino gives great protection and shine, but the natural waxes give better depth - thus why i use p21s on top of zaino. If you only wanted to use one type then i would suggest zaino, but if you have some p21s or zymol around - give a go at topping it and you will love the results.

I have just purchased a almost full arsenal of Griots products and have not been dissapointed yet, yhe stuff is awesome. I still have yet to get their carnuba and I believe this will be the icing on the cake. Lot's of Concours won with this stuff, now I can see why.

I've been using Griot's too and it is great stuff, very high quality. You probably will be very satisfied with either Zino's or Griot's. Both seem to be very effective products.

I got the link posted in the thread. But I haven't taken the time to search out dealers. Let me know what you find...
