Last night while washing our new MINI I noticed a long drip of some slightly sticky liquid that oozed out from behind the grill. I assume its a lube or sealant of some sort. It didn't come off easily. It's on the plastic part of the bumper. I'm stumped on what to use on it as I'm worried about harming the paint. My first try was going to Dawn. Will Goo-Gone melt the paint or plastic? Bug & Tar remover?

 

Goo-gone is safe to use on paint. Thats what I used to get off my vinyl old stripes.

 

If it's what I'm thinking it is, there are threads all over about this stuff. I'm sure someone will come along and list you a few.

 

That's the dreaded Cosmoline that MINI coats the cars with to protect them during transport.....can be a buggar to get off!!
