Not sure what you're asking. I said Epic doesn't turn the trim white. But Epic doesn't protect your trim or make it black again. It's a wax to protect the paint, not the trim.

i think he was asking if he needed to dress the trim before the Epic app.
and apparently Epic does not stain plastics so he was asking if he
can go without pre-app-ing the BW to the arches... i think..

exactly.....and said better than i did!
i've waxed many a car and try as i may not to get
any wax on the black plastic trim, i always manage to do so.
the earlier post suggested that protection on the paint with epic
wouldn't leave any white residue if found its way on the black trim.
just wanted to clarify as i've some epic on order.
thanks guys!

Correct, Epic doesn't turn the trim white if you wipe it off as you apply it. Even if you let it dry for a few days, it will still wipe off. So no you don't need to apply BW to the trim before doing Epic.

However if you're polishing with Swirl by PC, then you'll definitely want to protect the trim with either masking tape or BW.

thanks, dixiemax. i need to update that site soon...

last update was more than a year ago! ive tried so many different
products since then.

yah, as OG mentioned above, if you're going to be polishing i highly
recommend you BW the archs beforehand. that helps tremendously
when removing the ooops.

Sorry, PC (Porter Cable) is the dual action random orbital polisher that we use for removing defects and applying wax. When you use this tool, it does a great job at rubbing polish deep into the pores of the trim making it very difficult to remove unless it's been pretreated.

Back on the subject, I've always used Nero on the black plastic trim (and dash inside). It does not attract dust, makes water bead up 2-3 carwashes. No shiny effect, looks pretty flat. Works for me.
