Detailed the Wife's Car

As an early (bonus) Mother's Day and Wedding Anniversary present, I spent 3 hours this morning doing the following to my wife's 2007 burnt orange Eclipse:

1) Washed it with Dawn
2) Clay bar on the entire car, including the wheels (which had some very bad stains on them)
3) Wax/polished the entire exterior
4) Tire dressing

Believe me, when I was done, the car was sparkling. Before I started it had next to no wax or shine. When I first sprayed the car with water, it did not even bead up, it sat on top of the car in sheets.

When she went outside and looked at it, she said, "Oh, you washed my car." Washed? Really, washed? I give up...LOL

Wish I would have taken some before/after shots..the difference was THAT drastic.

seems like people that dont care about cars see things such as
clarity of glass and how clean the interior is. the paint, wheels, tires, they
dont see it.

at least she noticed!

Yeah, this is pretty typical of my other half, as well. About two years ago, when we first got the MINIs and I was becoming an OCDetailer, when I told her I was going out to wash them she would give me that look (you know, the one that says "you are some kind of bizarre freak") and say, "you don't have to wash mine, it's not really dirty".

Dirty ? She thought I was going to wait for it to get downright filthy before I washed it ??

She's come to accept things as they are now. She knows I'm washing them one a week, no sense debating it with me.

long time ago when i 'noted' my wife that she put some stains on the
console on my old inifiniti i had she said 'just get me a car that you dont
need to be picky on.' <= kenchan

when i did that she came home in a pos corolla. of course it was
meaningless to clean that car, but then again i didnt want to see the
pos on my driveway every damn day. it was hell... like punishment.

then one of my happiest days of my life came around when the corolla
got smashed in a parking lot accident. it was the perfect kind, the
other lady at fault, wife was not hurt. just the corolla. just
got rid of it quickly.

so i decided i'd keep my mouth shut and just keep my cars clean.
she appreciates clean cars but then doesn't like to be noted.
