QD Difference

Hello I am just wondering what is the difference between Prima Hydro and Slick, I know Hydro is as you dry but is there a difference between the two?

Huge difference Mob...You are correct that Hydro is used as you dry. "Prima Slick is a polymer-fortified quick detailer that leaves paint with a warm glow and fantastic slickness." (www.Detailier'sParadise.com) A quick detailer can be used anytime you want to clean your paint between washings.

Hydro is more a "wax as you dry" product, although it can be used on a dry car as a quick detailer. In fact, I use it as a QD on my black A-pillar covers because it does such a great job of hiding the micro-swirls that always seem to pop up on the covers in-between polishing sessions.

But in general, Slick is the better choice for an all-over quick detailing on a dry car.

Can't figure out how to copy the link here ... but if you search in Detailing 101 there's a thread "which product would be the slickest" with Heather from Detailers Paradise explaining the difference between Hydro and Slick.

Personally, can't get enough Slick myself!

It's simple. You want protection and some filling properties for your paint? Get Hydro. You want the best gloss but don't care about protection, Get Slick.

They are both important but it does depend on the color of your paint and how **** you are. Slicking black paint is wonderful BUT black paint also shows every little scratch and marring you put into it, so I actually don't recommend people to QD black paint unless they are planning to polish often.

I use Hydro everywhere--after the wheels are washed and cleaned, I use Hydro as a spray wax to get off any remaining brake dust I may have missed plus providing a level of protection against future dust.

I also use Hydro on door jams and areas that are difficult to wax.

When I remove polish residue using a Q-tip from emblems and such, I spray it with Hydro to clean and protect.

Good stuff for sure.
