@*%& dust! $*!@ more dust! How to remove safely?

I would say that dusting and QDing will do more damage quicker. Think of dust in layers. The dust immediately stuck to your paint will stick there, even at highway speeds. The dust that does come off is loose. If you were to rub the stuck dust off with QD or a duster--you're doing more harm by rubbing that against the paint, IMO, than leaving it there and washing it all off.
Have you ever tried to use compressed air to remove dust? For a freshly polished car, dust that settles on it can be blown off. But several days of dust, it won't blow off as easily. Try it.

cool. but, what creates LESS damage do you think? dusting and QD too often? or thick coats of dust being sheared off at highway speeds? that's my other concern. IMO that would be akin to rubbing down the paint with sandpaper
.
BAH there's nothing you can do i suppose except a good polish etc. when the time comes to hopefully reverse the damage. i guess that is why we have the products in the first place!

yeh, the only reason why i dont dust/QD my dd's is simply because i
dont want to polish the car every year.
too lazy for that.
so i just wash the car once a week.
this time of year in IL, the farmers are out in full force, landscape
artichokes out with their mulches. it's dusty here.

yeah i need a damn PC too. cool guys. hope this helped the OP... there's really nothing you can do.
i do however FWIW wash the R50 every weekend and watch the dust collect
. try a good wax/sealant to help minimize any bad dust affects though. we all have our favorites...

I gave up on dusting and QDing last year (and have 3/4 of a gallon of Slick sitting on the shelf to prove it!). I decided it was a battle not worth fighting. If my car is only shiny for a couple hours after I spend an hour washing it, so be it.
Me... I didn't buy my PC buffer to have it sitting in the cabinet.
I QD my commuter a couple times a week with a monster fluffy and Speed Shine. I also use the Cali Duster in between QDs. Yeah, after a couple months I can find some very light swirls if I look really closely in the sunlight. But I figure I'm the only person looking that closely at my MINI.
So I'll trade buffing the car twice a year for that stunning shine that constantly gets compliments. Fair trade off, IMO.

I am afraid...
I think I crossed that line when I started to wear cashmere clam diggers to wash the car so I would not "accidentally scratch the paint!'
