Blackfire Midnight sun Vs Epic

Hi all,

So I would count myself as an Epic and Hydro guy - dont do crazy long detailing - though I think it's about time foor me to work off some of the swirls in my car before I do another layer of anything.

I need to buy new Epic, but am wondering about changing to the Blackfire midnight sun ( I have a Chili Red car) and still using Hydro'ing after it.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Neil

I'm not familiar with that product. Is it a carnuba or a synthetic? i'll admit you will get a warmer look with carnuba but i like the longevity of synthetics. personally i prefer Epic to Zaino. but that's a personal chice.

Their product name is longer. What exactly is Blackfire and how does it relate to midnight sun?

looks like the wax is carnauba but, marketed as a topper for a synthetic sealant?

are you looking for more depth on your red MINI? if you like prima but want a deeper look you can add an carnauba topper. i do that with a carnauba over klasse. gives it a nice deep look on top of the synthetic on my indi blue. i use s100 carnauba FWIW.

if you do try it let us know how it works.

hah - ok, thanks for the thoughts. I was looking at the midnight to bring a bit of "traditional" protection to the car as I generally have not used carnuba. I dont know if it was depth or shine I was looking for, I guess I want both! I was interested in the Midnight being described as perfect for red cars - hence why I wanted to know if folks had used it!

Forget the marketing. The proof is in the pudding. Here's a NAM members CR Cooper--he clayed and Epic'd it only. No polishing.

+1

OG's pic says it all IMO. The longevity of Epic trumps the warm look of carnuaba waxes for me, not to mention the glossy shine it produces.

Nope that's Bruiser---belongs to a NAM and MU member, Paul.

Calogero's MINI looks like this:

I currently use M21 and am awaiting my Epic in due time.

The picture is what made me want to switch. I posted that all over SCD once I read that thread about Richard detail.

I haven't pulled my MINI out yet. Soon though.

That's right! I forgot that you posted that, lol. Now I understand the confusion. Epic is awesome! Check out what Epic on BRG looks like on my OctaneGuy Recent Details thread from yesterday.
