Help! First vomit.

My daughter puked over the rear and sides before she could climb out of the car. I guess I should drive a little more gently.

How does everyone handle vomit? What cleaning products?

Not EVERYONE has made someone puke in their MINI.

I'm afraid I don't have any advice. I hope your daughter will still want to motor.

I know it is too late, but when and if you get them clean again, soak everything with 303 fabric protectant.

Steam clean would be good or use 303 Fabric Cleaner and scrub then vacuum. I would also use an oder absorbent like baking powder and leave it on for a couple of days.
You sounded so matter of fact "How does everyone handle vomit?" like this happens all the time with MINI owners. Well I did make our dog puke once driving some mountain roads (but that was in the Expedition).
Hope your daughter feels better and can motor again.

Might want to also give Nature Miracle a shot, it does wonders with pet stains .

I think I'm doing it wrong. No one has vomited in my MINI yet. Though, *I* have vomitted in someone else's MINI

My spouse has come close in the passenger seat. She's not a big fan of the twisties from the right-hand side.

I keep telling her that if she had her own MINI and was in control behind the wheel, she'd feel just fine!

Maybe I should get some of those little airline air sickness bags before we pick up our MINI. (Note to self - new MINI name possibility -"Vomit Comet")

There was actually a MINI ad that came with them. I really wanted to get a set, but could never find it.

If you really want them .... http://www.sportys.com/acb/showdetl...._ID=301&DID=19 you can purchase them from Sporty's Pilot shop. (Yes .... I am a helicopter and fixed wing pilot!)

Thanks everyone for the replies. So I guess this doesn't happen to everyone?

I damaged controlled with some towels and some cheap wipes I had in the car. Still some stains left, so I will use some interior cleaner. Still some odor (it was mango vomit), so I will try the baking soda trick. Also those sickness bags look like a good idea, although trickier when dealing with toddlers.

I've learned the hard way that when my daughter says her tummy hurts, I must aim her out of the car more expeditiously.

What a great, inexpensive MINI mod! These babies are going into the passenger door pocket ASAP.

I acutually pulled a few from my collection and stuffed them in the back seats/glove box. Eventually I'm going to print out a sticker to put on them w/ the appropriate quote from Wayne's World.

My copilot usually get's carsick just from having to queue up another album on the iPod, but she took some ginger pills (on the advice from another driver in the local MINI club) before the club run we just went on and she was reading off the directions and doing the scavenger hunt sheet w/ no problem at all. More tests are needed to see if it was an isolated incident, but if it wasn't those things work miracles. Much better than Dramamine.

This actually happened to me a couple weeks ago with our 3 year old. I first paper toweled it...then threw on the nature's miracle...wiped that up...then threw on the baking soda...waited a day, vacuumed it up....threw on more baking soda...waited another day...vacuumed it up. I would say about 90% of the smell is gone...but every once in a while, I'll smell a hint of something. I'm thinking of getting it steam cleaned.

This thread is hilarious!!

My 2 year old son had the decency to say "daddy -- OUT" when he needed to puke. So, I've never had to clean my MINI of tossed cookies yet (thank goodness!).

The motion sickness bags look like a great mod, if only so passengers will be warned/prepared for the ride ahead.

Nothing worse than mango vomit. Good luck with the steam cleaning!

I thought all vomit would be pretty offensive.

When someone wants a first ride with me, I usually ask if they have their HANS device and an adult diaper.

Same thing happened to me last weekend! I'm happy to report that my 4 year old son was enthusiastic to get back in and keep motoring! I took the back seat bench out and the car seat of course. just used hot water and lots of clean white cotton towels. It's fine, good as new, luckily!

Try coffee beans in the interior for any lingering smell, or a trick I learned from an auto upholsterer - a bag of oranges for a couple of days in the car with windows all rolled up. This latter trick worked pretty well with the smoke smell from my MINI's previous owner.
