Tips for detailing beginners, help needed.

IMO, the NAM eZine is the number one reason to "join the alliance". You get indepth articles on all facets of MINI car care, modding, and general MINI ownership-- that's without the limitations of traditional print magazines. We are encouraged to write in as much detail and provide as much photography as we need to support the article, and that offers the reader a much richer reading enjoyment. Plus they are written by familiar people here on NAM that have been supporting the community for a long time.

Oh we get a badge??? I didn't know, lol. Ok, so the eZine is the 2nd best reason.

I was really impressed with the quality of the first NAM Ezine, Especially the article about Nano. If you don't cry reading it you have no soul.
I'm sure later in the month I'll join up just so I don't miss out on the next one.

Back to the original question. This makes me think of my son who just started driving last week. I would start by telling them what they need for a basic car wash in order to not do any damage to the car. Then tell them how to wash it after reminding them not to wipe it clean with a damp (or dry
) towel. Tell them how to wash their car in the best way possible using what they already have around the house already, then build from there, noting how each purchase of specialized cleaning equipment or supplies improves the finished result. I think that is what my son would want to know. I hope this helps.

I think the greatest help for a beginner (like me) would be a checklist or checklists giving a general idea of what should/could be done and in what order. Having optional items so that certain steps can be skipped sometimes would help too. The checklists could also reference more detailed tips.
