Today's goal is to go outside and drive the MINI. He's been idle since Sunday and I'm gonna be leaving him in the airport lot this weekend so I should let him have some fun today.

nice! i bought a new synth today from Nord... swedish, i thinks. costs more than your summer wheelset i believe. but has no a/c.

funny is it has yamaha piano samples... yet the piano's sounds hells better than yamaha's own digital piano, including their brand new one called CP. not sure wats up with that...

i didnt know they made stuff in sweden... i mean the quality of their product is...shall i say very european(?), but they sure sound very nice.

So here's a shocker for the day - Clara's problems? Yeah, not the CVT.

Electrical, probably the engine harness.

Now what?

Yeah, the irony is that I've spent the last several years making fun of my dad's electrical-gremlin-filled Jags.

She's the got the reliable MINI out of the two.

Though it sounds like I'm going to be changing Fuel pumps with the oil changes now

To be honest, I'm kind of livid at Patrick about this whole thing. I realize it's still a CVT and all, and *will* go someday but the engine harness is a $300 part and they didn't even TRY to diagnose the problem. They played into the CVT fears and I fell for it.

"Failing CVT" with no metal in the fluid. I'm such a sucker, and now really am not sure what to do. Do I sink a little more into it and try to chase it down? Do I wage war with Patrick and try to make them do it? Do I just dump Clara? *I* knew it was electrical all along, and no one believed me. So much easier to just blame the CVT.

I'm so angry I can't sleep.

Well, I shot off a lengthy email to Patrick's GM this morning. I'm not sure if anything will come of it, but I am relatively sure I now do *not* want to give them any more of my money...

Interesting phone call from the service manager at Patrick...they will now diagnose whatever is going on for no charge.

But now what...I'm supposed to believe what they say when they diagnose it?

Interesting hearing him under the pressure of like 3 of his bosses, plus the MA though.

They'll reset the ECU? Bonus!

I trust the guy as far as I can throw him.

I don't know, what would you do?

if it can survive for another week until your new car arrives i suppose just drive it until then and trade her in?

is the trade-in value and your new car price already set? if so, who cares...let them look at clara when you trade her in.

Gonna be 60 here today.

I put the summer wheels on Blimey last night. He was just a little dirty from some slightly wet roads last week, so I did a quick SOW job while I was waiting for googone to work on some wheel weight adhesive. Gotta get out and motor to grind the labels and mold release off the new tires today. Looks like great top down weather!

Think I'll do a bit of paint touch-up now.
