Return of the slacker

Howdy all!

I finally had a chance to wash Basil last weekend, about 3 weeks after my first "detailing" effort. While working on the passengers side with my meguire's car wash, I noticed some areas that look like someone used a big wide white crayon on the paint. My best guess is that I did not wipe all the dried Epic off properly 3 weeks ago (and never noticed it due to poor lighting in the garage plus I almost never walk around to the passenger's side). I worked a little harder with the microfiber wash mitt with the meguire's, and seemed to get rid of the marks. When I rinsed, I noticed that the water did not bead as well in the areas that I had scrubbed harder. I went ahead and used Hydro (some truly strange stuff), and dryed with microfiber waffle weave.

First, how bad did I screw up by leaving a few thicker bits of Epic on the car?

Second, do I need to strip down the passenger's side with dawn and re-apply Epic on that side?

P.S. I added a porter cable polisher to my Christmas wish list....

Thanks!

kenchan: you need to buy a new car. you're fine.

kenchan: probably not. best not to bear down on the paint next time cause you can introduce swirls. if it's SUPER hard to remove, i would probably used more Epic to dissolve the dried up Epic to fuse them together, haze, and remove.
