they suck. screw them. go somewhere else.

most people who own bmw's and pricey new cars do not take care of them, do not care if they are done well, and of course, enjoy being billed for excessive amounts. really, that should be about 500 dollars. eek.

Hard to tell from the picture, but once the dent is worked out, the door panel looks like the only thing that will need to be painted to me.

The edge of the door is not bent at all. A PDR guy should be able to work that dent out of the panel.

It's not metallic paint, like Romi, so blending in is much easier. But from a picture, it is hard to be accurate.

EDIT: Oops,..responded to the pics without reading page 2. My bad.

Well painting the whole side of the car means they cannot blend and hope that by painting it all, you won't see a seamline when walking around the car.

Clara is in good hands--she will have to pass my scrutiny before it gets released back to MLWagner. Plus Clara gets to sleep in my office while she cures and will have company with my MINI each day.

And she will come to you plastered in bugs from the drive down!

But really, I am so relieved. I was so worried that I would end up somewhere that would do a crappy job! Now I know it will all be okay. I slept sooooo well last night

Edit: I also rearranged all the stuff down the side of the garage last night. I would now have to nail the tool chest pretty much head-on to hit the wood chipper or anything else ever again. In which case, I would deserve whatever I got!

I have a wood chipper just like that.

I'll make sure it's far away from my car - evil, loud, smelly thing.

Early this year someone scraped my driver side door and put a dent in the front fender on my 17-18 year old white mercedes. The body shop was able to fix it so that you could not tell there was ever a problem and no discernible difference between the front where the damage was and the entire rest of the car. I raised seven levels of hell with the insurance company and the body shop because they refused to paint the whole car. I was sure they would not be able to adequately match 17 year old paint...but I was really wrong. Beautiful job and looked great.

Of course, within months the car blew it's headgasket. Thus my move to MINI!!

with OG on your side, i would be very comfortable having them fix it.

what bodyshops need are picky detailers... especially for repairs done
on our hobby cars.

^ I'm surprised you're not telling her to PDR it and use some touch-up paint.

I bet she'll be as good (or better) than new, Mel.

Congrats on making it through the wait without losing your mind.

Dumb and dumber

:impatient My story tops them all...brand new Mini...got a call from my son that a teen driver had just broad-sided him in his car so I go to the location with my Mini to pick him up, etc. He had a 4X4X8 peice of lumber in his car he was bringing over to me for a project so we had to get that out of his wrecked car and home in my Mini. I put it in the Mini through the trunk...back seats flat...and onto the front dash. It appeared to fit perfectly. I then open the door and sat down in the seat. Believe it or not, the front windshield shatters...completely.

Apparently, when I closed the trunk, it pushed the lumber up against the windshield. Then, when I got in the car, my weight must've flexed the body just enough to push the 4X4 hard enough against the glass to shatter the windshield. You talk about a bad day...my son's car totaled and my brand new Mini Cabrio Sidewalk/JCW has a totally shattered windshield.

It is fixed now but no building materials EVER again in the Mini!
Tom

It always pays to have a truck / SUV as a back up to your mini.
