Aeems (as silly as it sounds) that the Peanut Butter trick actually works. Managed to get the trim in several areas a few weeks ago when I waxed the car, so I'll have to give the PB trick a shot.

Erm... skip the jelly?

If you think it sounds silly, don't call it peanut butter. Don't picture the Skippy lady when detailing your car. Call it peanut extract, or peanut paste. It's a fine car-care product that just happens to be made by Peter Pan, or Planters.

Also, a tip - pure peanut oil (i.e., the active ingredient) works even better, and is less messy to work with.

I use Griot's stuff ( http://www.griotsgarage.com ) and am very pleased with their "Vinyl & Rubber Dressing" for the wheel arches on my MCS. I apply the Vinyl & Rubber Dressing first, then wax the painted areas of the car.

Mother's Back to Black works okay, but 2 weeks later the wax is there. What worked great fo me was Rain-X. Rubbed it in well and the white was gone.
