"Miss Seatbelt USA"/Convertiburn

I had a WONDERFUL time this past Sunday on my first group cruise - MINIs by the Bay! The weather couldn't have been more ideal, the twisties were fun, and the people I met were quite welcoming. Overall, I had a blast and can't wait for the next event!

On with the humor...

When I purchased Penny I failed to consider the very real possibility of a seatbelt tan line. I wore a tank top and capris under my seatbelt Sunday in the beautiful springtime sunshine. Hours upon hours of sunshine. Did I mention lots of sunshine?!

As if the tan (burn?) lines from the tank top weren't silly enough, it looks as if I'm proudly donning a winter white sash of honor, declaring me: Miss Seatbelt USA! Oy.

I did not know that could happen. A person learns something new every day.

Pics! Pics! Seriously, hope you weren't burned too badly - I wouldn't even have thought about getting burned while cruising around.

I'll have to find good lighting and snap a shot or two. I've got to admit... it IS pretty funny looking. Says Shaun: "That's just proof that you had a good time!"

I couldn't agree more.

I once got sunburn on the tips of my ears in a convertible. I had remembered to put the sun block everywhere else!

knees too

this is my second cabrio and yes I know the seatbeltburn rather well - however the best was when my knees got burned... I was driving from NY to DC on a nice sunny day and remembered to put sunblock on... but didn't think of my poor knees which were hit when the sun was just above me and to my right...

That one hurt

"Miss Seatbelt USA"

I got my first sunburn while motoring this weekend as well, but mine was just from the sunroof being open. Hence the reason I purchased a hard top. I have such pale skin I spontaneously combust in direct sunlight... I guess it's time to start keeping sunblock in the car again. Hope you recover soon...

I have the same problem in the sun. 80/20 Italian to everything else mix, and I get the Irish skin!

Thank goodness I had a ballcap on Saturday - I would've burnt the chrome dome! :-)

I did that once in my old convertible, too.

The convertiburn is the worst when you drive nekked, though.
