[Sun, May 20] 17th Annual Jefferson 500 at Summit Point *** CANCELLED***

The NCC BMW CCA have invited us to join them to see the running of the Jefferson 500 at Summit Point.

I know it is a little early, but they want to know with enough time to plan for food. Yes, I said food! The Bavarian Inn will be catering with some YUMMIE Bratwurst, weisswurst, knockwurst, sauerkraut, etc...

It is recommended to bring your own lawn chairs as well as beverages.

Tickets are $20/person.

This sounds like a good time! Sign up sheet is located HERE. This is for the BMW CCA, so make sure you sign up so we can be counted!
I am not sure when registration will be closing, but Steve (1996 328ti) has said that up to a couple of weeks before the event there is still enough time..But if you want to go, get in early!

Just a FIY. $20 was last years price to get into the race with a BMW CCA membership card. I think the price was $25 for all others. If it changes I'll update the NCC website.

I heard on WRR that the NA MINI Challenge is going to be there too. I wonder what day they will be running? that may be fun to see!

Please follow up on this email that was received and verify before anyone wastes their time going... I used to go every year until it fizzled out a few years ago... I thought it was back in good health but I guess I was wrong... Supposedly canceled due to lack of participation...

I also went to the Summit Point website and the Jefferson 500 isn't even listed as an event... http://www.summitpoint-raceway.com/

"May 8th 2007

Unfortunately we have had to cancel the Jefferson 500 for 2007. For several reasons we have not had sufficient entries to have the meeting be financially viable. Thank you every one for your support these past 16 years.

Best wishes
and all of us with the Jefferson wish you a safe and successful 2007 season.
