My other British toy.

My other major hobbies are sailing, and boat maintenance. This is Toyot (pronounced 'Toy Yacht') my 1969 British built Westerly Cirrus. British boat, British car... Know any single British girls?

Recumbent bikes are another hobby... heres a few of mine.

Add in some photography / camera collecting, some wood working, fiberglass, and other odd projects. Any excuse to play with power tools. I'm about to get into a computer controlled CNC router / mill that will handle wood and plastic. Got some interesting MINI projects in the works.

I read a great deal (daily for at least an hour) - generally European and Middle Eastern History 1133-1603.
I also spend the time that I can writing - mostly my journal.
I busy my hands while watching TV with crewel work, sometimes knitting although I am not very good at this, and sewing crafts. I am going to make my sister a tree skirt for Christmas this year.
And when not doing these things I am either motoring in the MINI, volunteering for KEYS for the Homeless Foundation, or at my Sangha meditating and working on my koan.

Most of my time is spent with my children, but when I am not doing all the parenting stuff, I like working on my car and playing GTR2 as will as Rfactor.

, or do jewelry work?
Does buy jewelry counts too? I love rings .. I wish I had 20 fingers...and a fatter wallet !!

I love to read with a good glass of wine ..in English, Italian an Spanish (it takes a bit longer)
I love etymology, history and development of Italian dialects and love historical novels that take place around the 1500 in Europe (favorite places: England, Italy and France)

I spend most of my free time @ the gym (free weights , kickboxing and hanging around the cafe - my favorite work out) w/ my MINIs (autoxing, including school, touring, and shopping for the Little Ones) and my GSD ( loooooooong walks, play and grooming).

I don't have much free time now, at least until May, but I will make up in June with a MINI vacation in Zandvoort, NL

I have never been a person for hobbies. What ever interested me, I would find a job and get paid for it.

I was interested in computers for a while and got a job doing something with them and got tired of it. I was interested in golf and got a job in that field as well and left that.

Now, I really don't do anything but work and come home and check NAM, most of the time.

I'm Italian (bet you'd never know that looking at my super-glow in the dark-white skin, missed out the dark italian skin :(), grew up Italian, and with a bunch of Italian women in the family I know my way around them, it would take more than Italian blood to get me

In the summer time, it's all about Msfitoy...

During these "Global Warming" months (5F outside), I stay in my tiny 8x8 "Man Cave" below ground where I:

1-collect 1/32 slot cars
2-collect 1/18 airplane models (yes, I'm realizing that this is hobby best reserved for a bigger room LOL)
3-polish my small 1/18 diecast car collection
4-build target rifles that I can't find a range for
5-build rockets from Estes to H power that I can't find a range for
6-polish my swords...
7-preparing the fastest Mini at the Dragon...

This was my favorite. It's a Bell Long Ranger. It had a 60 size motor with a pipe. Really smooth flying. Did gentle aerobatics with it such as loops and rolls. I put windshield wipers, antennas, etc., on after this photo was taken.

All my models ran on methanol and 30% nitromethane fuel.

Both the Ranger and the second model were about 5' long from nose to tail.

This was the last one I had. Still a 60 size motor. This one was made for what is called 3D aerobatics.

This is a shot of the mechanics.

It was a lot of fun (unless they crashed).

Used the nitro mix in your Cooper?

Never tried to put nitro fuel into my mini. That stuff is insanely dangerous. And it burns almost clear, light blue flame, scary stuff.

msfittoy: my rc will own you.... i need to find a mini body in 1/8th scale then itll be on!

I've got a 1/10 scale MINI Cooper S body, but I haven't gotten around to getting a chassis that fits its short wheelbase (239mm). I was planning to get the Tamiya kit but just haven't had it on the high priority list. I like the "purist" approach of keeping the RC car front wheel drive, but I'd love to see someone get a nitro engine into the FWD chassis!! (without having to cut a hole in the body!)

some of you may have been around in the hobby long enough to remember the bolink legends electric cars. me and my dad retro-fitted a .12 os motor into one, making it the first direct gas powered legend in the country. then i think they actually started to sell legends with gas motors in them, which was pretty lame, but ours was the first!!!! got them pictures somewhere.......
