Now THAT's what I'm talking about!!! That's what I wanted for my EB/White w/white bonnet stripes. I already have the mirror covers and valve covers. (I've decided to wait since my 2003 goes out of warranty soon, so trading her in for a new one.) THEN I'll get my checkerboard strips and roof!
That's one cool looking car chows4us. Why RIP? Gone?
I've noticed that DC in general is a very conservative place. People here are pretty low-key and understated. Sometimes this can be to a fault as it seems some here don't know how to enjoy life and have fun. I really like DC but it can be a little drab. But I guess in regards to my MINI I shouldn't really talk since I haven't gotten around to doing anything on it yet...
I'm with you, Clark! The people around here (present company excluded--all of you) are like in that movie, Joe versus the Volcano? Very rigid, drab, cookie cutterish afraid to stand out. Now NYC! THAT's a city! Passion and "joi de vivre!" There's commaraderie in being different.
And, in response to your last statement, but AT LEAST you drive a MINI! That says something about you...
I have to agree with most of you about how conservative this area is. I mean, go to the Capital arond lunch and all you see is grey and black. As for MINI's, most of the owners around here use them for transportation, that is why alot of us are not waving as much anymore. As for us, just look
Now THAT's a MINI!!! I was waiting for you or MININurse to pop up, Jay! I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE what y'all have done with it.
Hey, remember that magazine we were looking at with the Laser Blue on the cover, was that MC2? And can I purchase it in a book store or do I have to subscribe?

OH and for those that do not have a creative mind that's my specialty. Ask MiniNurse I can make you anything from wild to mild. Check out last years AC/DC event. http://www.aestheticreations.net/gallery/dc2005.htm
and now a word from our sponsor... (just kidding). You do some awesome work. I am looking forward to using you when I get my new MINI (looks like a 2007 now). Checkerboard all the way!
Wish my MINI were going to be ready by then. I'm definitely interested in the tint until I figure out the rest of what I want to do. But I won't be in the driver's seat until late Oct or early Nov.
From building/ordering to receiving, what's the wait time nowadays, Misty? (Back in 2003 it was around 10 months, although I luckily got it in less than half that time.)
2 weeks?!!! Jeremy, I didn't realize you were such a newbie! I thought you've had your forever! And it looks great, btw. I'm the same as yours only EB/White.

Well, you know you've got a point there, whovous...
But what about the Rolling Stones , they're British and decidedly NOT understated, and The Beatles for that matter, and Fergie, Fergie is definitely NOT understated, although she's had people of the Royal-nature try to make her so, and Sir Elton John, now THERE's a definitely NOT understated dude!
We ordered our new 2006 MCS with the Silver bonnet stripe to match the top and mirrors. We also ordered the Webspokes to add a bit of sportiness. I guess that is about it.
Our MINI is at the NY Distribution Center and hopefully we will see it in the next few days.
Woohooo!!! Congrats! (I'm guessing that by now you have it?)
...I bought my MINI in Princeton, NJ...But I've been very impressed with DCMM so far, it seems like this is one of the most active clubs in the country
WHAT, pray tell, brought you to the DC area, dear Clark?
(I also agree with you about the DCMM group--this has been a nice forum with a great group of enthusiasts. It almost makes me sad that I hadn't participated sooner. )

i haven't like putting stickers on my cars since i was 18. i apperciate the natural lines of the car without stickers. cars look so much smoother to me without anything on it.
here is a pic of my gti and my passat that im trading up for the mini.

Hey VWzealot - welcome to NAM & DCMM...
I had to delete your picture because it was far too large and taking up too much of the screen. Can you please edit your post again and link to a smaller version of the pic?
EDIT: In your post below - perfect sizing!
