Please sign us up for the Skyline tomorrow. We are from Charlottesville (but formerly from DC- a DC expat so to speak). We are not affiliated with any club. License plate is VA-- MINI IT

Mom and I are going to have to cancel so take us off the list. We are bummed but I experienced Ernesto all yesterday and through the night and it wasn't pretty. No more bad weather for me. Have fun and be safe!

Skyline Drive

I just got back home and I'm wishing I could have at least gone on to DC with you all. I had a great time today and hope you all liked the route across country. Sorry I couldn't arrange better views from the top :impatient but I think it was a good day's motoring. A word of thanks for those of you who did the ground work with the various clubs especially xcaligali and MiniNurse --- I know lots of people were taking photgraphs and I look forward to seeing them posted on the web. As for me I'm attaching 2 shots from Skyline.

Minilla, thank you for putting together our Skyline Drive route. It was beautiful even through the fog. I had a great time driving down with everyone. Thank you to Florence for the Crepes and to the English Chap passing out the M&M's. Mininurse and JustJay, great to FINALLY meet you! It was great to meet so many new friends. The Mini Community is awesome! Do you think we could buy our own town?

To see the pictures I took click the "Pictures" link in my signature.

Happy motoring!
Asya

MINILLA, that was a fun day, regardless of the fog... a welcome and refreshing change from highway driving and sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic. Thanks for taking the lead on that, I had a great time, and I'm confident that everyone else did too!

Now I could try to take the blame for not introducing everyone... but I won't... everyone should have been wearing their DCMM member badges!

Today is like the day after Christmas. After all the excitement and planning the day after you feel so empty. Thanks again for all of the fun!

Yeah I feel like that also. I couldn't sleep last night -- still motoring! Even this morning in church I had to tell everyone during the announcement time what a great day we had yesterday driving Skyline and visiting the Gray Ghost Vineyard.
One of the camera crew asked me (on camera) "Ok, can you explain the difference between DRIVING and MOTORING?" My off the cuff response which I was rather pleased about raised a chuckle ---"Driving is going from A to B because you have to -- but motoring is going anywhere you want because you have nowhere to go!"
Happy Motoring everyone --- Let's do it again sometime when we have nowhere to go!

The Day After

Minilla and the DC Metro Minis,

Thanks for the great time yesterday. Couldn't resist the Skyline on my way home back to Charlottesville after peeling off in Warrenton. We motored south from Route 33. It was beautiful but not the same experience even if the weather did finally cooperate. We felt so alone after such a great day with everyone.

It has convinced me that we should join DC Metro Minis to motor with even though we are outside the local area.

Thanks again. I will post the pictures once I download them.

Had a wonderful time, in spite of the fog and the power outage at our first lunch stop. Thanks again for organizing it, MINILLA!
