[Sat-Sun, Oct 14-15] Tint, Graphics, Stereos & Alarms
What were you doing in SD? I'll be in OC next week end.
Thought this thread would be a good place to show off the "Love Bug" vinyl decal Mike made for us recently. This one is on the boot and we put one just like it on the sunroof. Thanks, Mike !

we plan to bring both MINI's down to MOTD this year vs. the single Subaru with kayaks we brought last year.
still have some bubbles in my vinyl....razor blade time or leave it alone? warm sunny days are dwindling...

The bubbles haven't all gone yet, but I'm trying to be patient about that. We haven't had many warm sunny days, and besides I park in a garage while I'm at work. I really hope we only have to redo the rear, not the front as well!
Side note - I am VERY happy (and pleasantly surprised) to report that even though we thought the metallic-looking vinyl would block the Smart Tag / EZPass toll sensor signal, it doesn't! I am flying through the lanes just as easily as before, with my pass mounted in the same "stealthy" rear sunroof location.
I can't claim originality on that one...

Note that ideally it should go at the VERY front part of the rear sunroof - so that most of it is actually hidden from the inside too (since there is a recess due to the extended headliner & shade). Also, as far as orientation, pretend you are mounting it on the front windshield, and then tilt it back. So instead of the arrows pointing up, they point backwards. Since the EZPass sensors in the toll booth are actually above the car, it makes sense that way.

Added suggestion - cover the entire thing in black electrical tape. I did that, and it is even MORE stealthy... although I didn't cover the label part (but that part ends up in the recess above the headliner/shade).
If it's OK with you, I'd like to have it shipped to either Carlos or myself, so he can do the install. I'm hoping that you and Carlos can have it arranged so I can just destress about it!

I'll send that piece to Carlos along with some others. I'm sure he won't mind the business. Glad you don't have to move the sensor. that is a good spot for it.
Don't use a razor or a safety pin. You want to use a Silk Needle. It is very thin and strong. You shouldn't even see the pin hole.
Don't fret about the bubbles. It takes a while for them to go away. Even if you don't have sun it help to keep the car out in the day light. It's the UV that works the bubbles out give them a few weeks. If they are still there than you can go through and pop them with a needle.

Awesome! I see my car there. mdsbrain I love that flag he did he for you. I remember looking at it out in the parking lot when I was listening to your exhaust, it's really cool. How did you come up with the idea?
