The roof is cool.

The spoiler is really nice because the flag was cut to look shredded.

I'm amazed

I was there when Mike started on the flag roof and saw all of the problems he had installing it because of the size (made wrong size by printer) and material used. To see how it turned out is certainly a credit to his ability. Anyway to post a photo of the shredded design on the spoiler?

Looks great! Gene

That's an incredible graphic, MDS. Was that your own idea ?? Also, why have the flag appear to be shredded on the end ? I think I see the symbolism there, but would like to hear your perspective, if you want to share it. Thanks.

see post #184. The printer screwed up and Mike improvised, making a bad situation into a cool solution (vinyl was short and so they cut flames or tatters into the spoiler section)

Saw there was a problem with the size. Didn't realize the length was the problem and that was the solution. Thanks for putting those puzzle pieces together for me.

Just to add to my fellow MINIAC's comments. I wanted a flag to start with and then thought how I could take it a step further. So I wanted the names of those who perished on 9/11. It came out just as I wanted it too. From a distance it looks like a normal flag and then up close its apparent what it is.

Also I like the spoiler, it sort of looks like the flag is getting worn in the wind as I carve up the roads

Not only great looking, but an inspirational memorial also, MDS.

Be sure to post that pic in this thread also... where it belongs with the other best roof graphics out there:

No problem. I was just looking at that thread recently and seeing your graphic, I thought it should be there in case anyone goes looking for ideas for their own MINI... might be the first thread they look at.

OK I'm going to try this again. Internet doesn't seem to be working today.

We got back from DC on Tusday and took a day to recover. I'm back at work now and have 250 emails to go through Monday was the longest day ever. We took the rental to NJ to see my truck. We must have took the long way up because it took us 4 hours. We had just enough time to see the truck and head back. It only took 2.5 hours to get to the airport. Than we spent 6 hours on the plane back. Got home at 2 am. Man were we beat! I was able to drive the Mini Pickup around a bit and man is that little guy fun. I LOVE IT !! To give you and idea of how small this Mini Pickup really is here is me standing next to it.

We had a great time in DC meeting old friends and making new ones. I sure hope we can do this every year. Carlos your shop is a great place for this. I hope you were able to make it a permenent spot.

For those that were missing part of their order or had issues I will be taking car of that this week as I catch up.

Mark thanks for putting this together and making it happen. Sherril and James you guys rock Had a great time with you guys and that Shish Kabob place was great.
Paul, your a riot. The rest of you guys rock to and it was great to meet all of you.

We will be setting up the install party at the Dragon very soon. So I hope to see you all there

Mike - thanks for the great job on the install... even though we ran short on material, I LOVE the effect with the vinyl, and I'm very happy that we did it. From the inside, you can't see the missing strips at all, so it's a happy compromise for the time being. During a sunny day, the interior of the car has this really awesome "bright blue glow" from the sunroof, an effect I didn't fully expect but I really dig, since my car is blue-themed anyway.

I look forward to getting the rear part fixed up so that the outside looks as flawless as the inside!

I wish I'd had more time to hang out with everyone on Saturday... but I'll try to keep more time open next time.

P.S. Love the Mini Pickup - that's so cool. Hehe.

I'll send it right to Carlos next week. Still catching up and someone out there got me sick too
That's OK though gives me an excuss to relax a little.

Chris have you desided not to do anything to your GP? I would still like to do some graphics on it.

Edge

Do you want me to send the piece to carlos and have him put it on or wait for the Dragon?

If I don't fly to the dragon next year I will bring the truck for sure. Not sure yet if the fam will be going.

I just got back from a week in San Diego and the graphic still looks top notch I need to take care of a few bubbles but not too much for me to deal with. The nut I need I ordered from a MINI dealer and should have it this coming week.

Thought this thread would be a good place to show off the "Love Bug" vinyl decal Mike made for us recently. This one is on the boot and we put one just like it on the sunroof. Thanks, Mike !
