HURRAY - Production has Begun

I just received word for Brian, our MA at Tate MINI, that our new car began production this morning and should be here in 3 to 4 weeks... The waiting is killing us but at least we finally have begun.

Ouch - that's a cold way to describe a baby... and besides, the MINI is parasitic... on your wallet!

Hey, I'm technically correct.

Main Entry: par·a·site
Pronunciation: 'par-&-"sIt
Function: noun
: an organism living in, with, or on another organism in parasitism

par·a·sit·ism (pr-s-tzm, -s-)
n.

A symbiotic relationship in which one species, the parasite, benefits at the expense of the other, the host.

While I agree your statement was scientifically correct, I would also argue that the stigma associated with the vast majority of parasitic organisms shouldn't be attached to a human fetus, especially since the existence of the fetus is a voluntary choice by the mother. She chooses to have the baby and allow it to grow inside her.

Not to mention that it's a two-way "benefit"... the mother (in most cases) gains an enormous amount of very positive emotional attachment to the child, which she (usually) thoroughly enjoys... so it's not simply a matter of "expense" to the mother.

Side note... this has gotten WAY off-topic! Now to attempt to correct:

Griff - CONGRATULATIONS on the beginning of your MINI journey. We all look forward to meeting you, both before and after you take delivery. As soon as you DO get it, be sure to bring it to the next DCMM event to show it off!
