Cool, unfortunately, with work demands, I won't have a definite time until the last minute.... I may be able to escape earlier - just not sure. I'll just have to holler on the radio whenever I get out and hopefully meet up with some other MINIs along the way.

 

As much as I love Five Guys (and I really do!!!!) I will gladly sit with you all there, but I will have to pass on eating there....I can't eat that then drive..lets just say, my poor GI tract isn't quite used to their cookin

I'm a new member and looking forward to meeting everyone. I'll meet the Super Target group by 1:00 and I'm staying at the Hampton Inn in C'ville. I'll be in the Chili Red MCS with the State Farm - Joe Fernandez Agency graphics a.k.a. 'Ask Joe MINI'...you can't miss it. And it is my personal vehicle, not State Farm's, so I am as much of a MINI enthusiast as the rest of you (the marketing was just an excuse to buy and write off ). Looking forward to good times!

I guess I am going to be the early bird into Charlottesville on Friday.

If anyone wants to join me I will be departing Lorton, VA at 12:00 noon heading towards Charlottesville via Fairfax County Parkway (7100) and then 29 all the way down.

I will be on the designated radio frequencies if you want to give me a shout as I pass buy Super Target. I’ll be listening for you.

I am staying at the Omni and I look forward to meeting you there. If I can do anything to help set up things for your arrival please let me know. See you at the Drive-Inn.

Hmm, reading through it, I wonder if we should just meet at the Five Guys and forget the Super Target?. 12pm if you want lunch, 1pm if you don't. Leave by 1:30p.

Does that make more sense? And does anyone have specific directions/address for the Five Guys (from Rt 66 exit)?

Five guys web sight has dirrections WWW.fiveguys.com/store_locator.aspx?s=VA the street address is 7321 Atlas Walk Way Gainsville VA 20155. The dirrections for the web sight are;exit 66 at 43A US 29 south - go 1.3 miles and turn left and head towards lee high Way go 58 Feet and turn left Lee High way go 339 Feet. These directions seem confusing to me. I have been there one time in June. After you come off 66 on to 29 south, you come to a light and some railroad tracks on the left you should see Five Guys. It is a new store in a new strip shopping center. Go to the next light (far end of the strip shopping center) and turn left. Go a very short distance ( the other side of the strip shopping center) and turn left again. Five Guys is down on the left. Target is located at 13301 Gateway Center Drive Gainsville VA 20155. The dirrections from MSN say the two are one tenth of a mile apart. MSN gives the street name to the second light on 29 as Linton Hall Road to the left RT 619. They list the road that you turn left on next as Gateway Center Drive. The target is just past Five Guys. I agree lets just meet at Five Guys.

 

Count me in for meeting at 1pm...at Five Guys.

If anyone is interested, I'm planning on leaving around 10:00a on Friday from Germantown and would love some company caravaning down. I'm pretty flexible and may even tack on an extra hour by going no highways, but it's up for discussion if you're interested.

My only plan is to get there in time for registration as this will be my first day and I want to see what registration is all about and ensure that I'm in time for the departure to the drive-in, since I haven't a clue, as of yet, where that's at.

I'm a newbie to the group and am looking forward to meeting y'all and going on this most excellent adventure.

 

We are in Germantown as well and will be meeting people somewhere. MiniNurse knows more about it than I do. You should PM her and caravan with us

 

FORGET TARGET!!! We will just all invade Five Guys! It will be a MINI take over! Between 12n-1pm. We will ge hitting the road Jack between 1-130pm

I am new to all this as well. I live in Rockville, just off 28, an I am planning on meeting everyone in Gainesville. I think you have plenty of time to get to registation. I was going to leave Rockville about a hour later. Can we talk you into lunch at Five Guys? Any one else from this area we can ride to Gainsville with? Don't be conserned about the Drive Inn. My wife has made up a sign for us to have in the parking lot of the Omni. (Mini Movies) She though the crack about me in a toto was funny and she may put the Mini Bull Dog I won in a toto. We have a purple S, and will leave the Omni at 6:15

Sorry you won't be joining us. It will be really fun! Motoring in a group is always better than alone I think! But we will be sure to see you down there.
Look for the sign Carl's going to have and we will be announcing it over the radios...chan 7, sub 21! MINI network!
