Windsheild

Hi! My MCS took a rock in the windsheild and I need to get it replaced... What's the best course to take? Dealership or use a glass company?

Thanks in advance!!

Damn! Today must be a bad day for windshields. Mine took a rock @ 7am. Left a pretty ugly quarter size crack/smash type mark just under eye level. Annoying as hell.

I used the safelite there a few minutes from MOS and have had no problems with it except for the 2 rocks that it took in one day within 5 minutes of each other leaving a huge crack and a nickel size chunk. The new windshield wasn't even two months old. Total cost was about $220 give or take a few dollars.

I used Safelite with no problems. They did use OEM (sekurit) glass though. Supposedly, PPG aftermarket glass is supposed to be better.

Does anyone know where you can get this supposed PPG glass. When I talked to Safelite they said that they can only use their own glass. I might consider the PPG for the next windshield.

for both of you...what does your insurance say about windshield fixing? For example, my company pays for windshield fixing/replacement. Look into it before you pay through the nose to get it fixed

Correction. We are registered in FL, so FL pays for our windshields.

Oh, oops! My bad. I thought that was a feature for the company, not from Fl!
