If we want to caravan for this I have no problem offering up my house in Reston for a meeting place. I live near 267 and Leesburg Pike so either route would be easy to get to from my place.

All of the information regarding time, date, etc. can be found by looking at the evite. There is a link in my original posting for the evite. As it is, those who are looking to caravan can meet at my house in Reston at 9:30 a.m. I will send out my address to those who RSVP via the evite.

I'm going to have to change my RSVP to a no go. The project on the boat did NOT go well today, and I'm hoping I can get the correct part to install the weekend of the tubing.

Edit: Well, somewhat improved situation. I had done the install of the new outboard bracket and engine which went perfectly. Unfortunately they sent a bracket with the wrong range of rise and fall so I have to do the whole job over again. You can't test the thing without installing em and mounting the motor 'cause the springs are designed for 175 pound of counter weight. It's close enough that if conditions are just-so I can use the boat, and just did take a little two hour sail. But it needs to be swapped out... Argh.

Sorry to hear you won't be able to make it. Did you un-RSVP on the evite? I need to get an accurate head count.

Thanks!

It's too bad that the tubing won't be as fast as this...

(nice flip, huh? )

I haven't gone "tubing" behind a boat in a long time... such fun.

LOL... aww, come on... this one doesn't even go upside down... OK, maybe it does, but only if you don't let go.

My RSVP is in - I'm looking forward to this!

There are now only 3 slots left, according to Evite.

Are you really coming or will you have another "network outage"? That must be code word for something

LOL why, do you want me to have another network outage?

The "scheduled" network outages are once a month, and always on a Friday night. Since we just had one last Friday, I should be all set until mid-September.

Of course, I'm also always on-call if things start to break (i.e. "unscheduled" network outage!), so you never know... it's like being a doctor, only nobody's life is at stake, just company money.

I'll be passing Reston anyway, so if the timing works out, I might be up for caravaning/carpooling. What time are you thinking the caravan would leave?

Ideally I would like to leave Reston at 9:00 am so I can be prepared instead of running around like a mad woman trying to get situated. Is that doable for you? Some girls are crashing at my house the night before so they will be here already.

I think so - it's means getting up earlier than I usually get up for work ( ) but I can appreciate not feeling rushed.

LOL - we're going to the outskirts of modern civilization... into the backwoods state known as West Virginia... I plan on NOT shaving... the "mountain man" look. Sorry, no overalls
