Yes, just like the ones that I saw at MOTD that go on the antenna. I guess I have have to buy a new antenna.

I making some large signs (like the ones we used for the 4th of July Parade) that can be place on the dashboard- I usually out one when I am parked somewhere...it gets a lot of looks.. Should I make extras?

I second the flag idea. Jay and I really liked it when we saw it at the dragon. I would look into it, but where do I look? I haven't ever done anything like that before. I guess I will have fun on google.

I actually have one of those in my posession. I was cleaning up stuff from the farewell dinner at the dragon and I knew we didn't want to lose it so I stuffed it in my bag. I can return it to whomever it belongs at some upcoming event.

Well looking into the flag idea, I saw a bunch of companies that wanted me to send the artwork and then wait for a response. I don't think we want our artwork out there for everyone to have, so I didn't send anything. I did however, see a site that can do car flags. These are the ones that unfortunatly go on the window, but I am sure we can rig them to the antennas. They can print on both sides, claim to be high quality nylon some kind of ply or something, screen printed the blue and red on a white flag so there is the three colors, for about 587.05 (probably not inculding tax and shipping) for 100 flags. That was the cheapest I found, but I am only two eyes here. And the site says 4-6 wks for shipping. So just another idear out there.
But of course, that was for 100 flags. The pricing is 88$ to set up the first flag (screens and all) and each flag is $4.95 there after. That was at this site...http://www.united-states-flag.com/

I like the flag idea but is it really a good idea? each MINI has a different antenna - GPS no antennas at all -plus can they stand out once the car is moving?

How about some magnetic signs?

They make car flags that go into the window too, right? I saw those on the site MINInurse linked us too.

ABSOLUTELY!!! Great idea! And we can use them for other events too, like parades, and the Dragon!

I would proudly display a flag from the antenna or one of those window types. (I personally think Mia would like one from her antenna)

Looks like the route could be done in a loop, scenic drive down, Rt 64 to 95 back?

I think I'll do leg 13 but I'm gonna wait a bit before signing up. September schedule is a little iffy at present.

I don't know how much cash is in the bucket for this kind of thing, but I would be willing to pay for a flag or two! If people are interested, which it sounds like, I may start another thread for everyone to put their .02 in. But if we want this, we should act fast, since it takes 4-6 weeks for shipping!

Oops.

Ya know, I haven't done a thing about accomodations yet. I just looked at the agenda briefly and figured initially I'd do the three close days. Then I saw the Rolex vintage races and decided I needed to see that too!

Guess I should get off the stick. Will have to look at the agenda more closely and see if there's a place most of the others are staying. I'll probably root around NAM tomorrow and see if I can find where everybodies goin'. Else wise I'll look a the tracks web site and see if they list close places.

Nope

Nope. BUT When I talked to them today I was told it went in the Paint shop Friday, and the parts they waited until the last minute to order for the seat arrived today. So I've gotta think by next week some time or perhaps this Friday if a miracle occurs. SO will likely depend on when 'Air Bag Inc.' the subcontractor comes back and does the seat. The air bag didn't go off but any seat with a airbag that needs repair the body shop has these specialists do. I wonder if I'll still remember how to drive the stick

I'm currently in a Red S Convertible if you need a fix. It doesn't have the black stripes or anything, but it's still an S.

SES Light. Happened last Friday too. Stopped by LDG had John pull the code (02 sensor related) and the freeze frame. Nothing out of the ordinary in the data so I had him clear it. SES Light popped on again this morning when I was stopped at a traffic light. So I dropped by Towson and am having them diagnose what's really going on. They called today and didn't get a chance to look at it so I have the car for another day.

Gotta say, even with the top down there really isn't good visibility out the back. Although with the drop top down I don't seem to feel near as overheated cruising around.

Ok...

Glad it's nothing big..

You definately have to get used to using the side mirrors with the convertable. The rearview mirror is tunnel vision. But once you're used to it it's just like driving a full size van. In that I almost don't use the rear view at all, just the sides 90%. You DO see everything with no blind spot, but it certainly takes some getting used to... Very different from a car.

Now, remember if you cuss another driver out they're more likely to hear you so be careful!

I defintely hear more, heard what I think was quite a few people questioning my "direction in life" so to speak.

???

Your direction in life? You're going to have to expand on that / 'splain it to me...

Hey guess what? Sterling parts department says the "MINI structured paint flat black part # 51 91 0 027 551" mentioned in the MINI install intructions for the aero kit to match the wheel arches doesn't exist!

Chrimity. (sp?) SOMEONE doesn't know their **** from a hole in the ground. Whether it's the parts desk or MINI yet to be determined. I'm a really patient person. I've been patient for 9 weeks. But I'm about ready to go 'Postal' on someone, I just need to figure out who deserves it. And by going Postal I don't mean climb l'Alp d'huez or Col de la Madeleine so fast I make all other cyclists look like John Candy.

Sorry, nothing to do with thread, but had to vent somewhere!
