Thanks to all of the well-wishers!! I appreciate it!!

As for the rest, I'll see you tonight! (Might be a little late... about to get on the road now. Hopefully traffic will cooperate!)

I am sorry paul that james and I are missing this. Though I appreciate the lesson and the coolant. I have been practicing my manual mode skills everyday! You said it before, you are not dead - we'll get to see you in a few months (and maybe at the dragon for a day?)

Paul, sorry I missed your weekend of fun.

Thank you thank you for stepping up for DCMM over the past year. Running our events. Pinch hitting on the Board for a few months when we were between elections.

You will be missed VERY MUCH by everyone here and we will be looking forward to hearing about your adventures in Florida. And waiting for September when you get back!

... but I think that Will will not come to another MINI gathering sometimes soon as we kept asking him MINI related questions... like he was still our SA.. heck he ended in checking Streghina's oil (CmdrVimes got a little confused) and test drove her for a strange noise she was - and still - making.
But it was a pleasant evening ending with a MINI PJ show: Paul! and I both were wearing our MINI PJs

Paul! we already miss you ....

Aww, thanks all!

And heck w/ adventures in FL, how about adventures in getting down there!! I finally set off about 12:30ish today. Boy, I love DC traffic in the rain!! But as I got closer to Front Royal, traffic let up. Unfortunately, the weather didn't though. I canx'ed my plans to do the drive to the Dragon via Skyline Drive & the Blue Ridge Parkway, and headed down I-81. Or at least until the weather let up a bit! I even saw patches of blue sky! So I saw a sign for the Blue Ridge, and took it (no idea where I was at this point... GPS claimed about 300 more miles to go before Fontana). It ended up being a fairly entertaining 12 or so mile drive to the parkway. But when I got on the parkway, it was a solid wall of fog! I couldn't see more than 10 feet in front of me! So on went the fog lamps, and I putted along. I also told my GPS to get me back to a highway ASAP. It was going fairly well, until I came up behind a Expedition that was doing 5-10 MPH!! I mean, take it slow and all, but come on!! And it was just too foggy to attempt a pass, so I just bared with it. Well, about 6 sloooow miles down the road, my GPS had me turn off the parkway. It took me through some fun twisties, which were luckily free of fog and relatively dry. Or at least they were fun, until I realized that my GPS put me right back on to the parkway for about 3 miles! 'Oh well, it's only 3 miles' I thought, and after I waited for a vehicle to pass, I made the right onto the parkway. I started to take off and caught right up to the vehicle that passed, and as my luck has it, it was the f'n Expedition again!!!! As my tag says 'AHH WTF'!! So, three more grueling miles, and I was able to turn off and get back to a highway. I-77, I think. In fact, for a good portion of the time, not only did I not know what road I was on or town I passing through, I didn't even know what state I was in! Ah well, good thing for the GPS!

Anyway, didn't make it to the dragon tonight. I'm beat. I think I'm in Hickory, NC right now. Only about 180 or so to Fontana from here, so I should be getting there early enough for a good day on the roads!

Umm, anyone need anything checked or passed to Fontana?

-Paul!

Yes, I need to know if they finalized the location of the beer swap. The restaurant folks should know. I was going to call them today or tomorrow to check in.

Paul,

I am terribly sorry I missed your farewell hurrah... both the MINIs by the Bay run (as short as I hear it was), and the dinner this past weekend... I, of course, was still in Australia, although I arrived home on Sunday evening.

Going to miss ya bud... I hope to see you back here and ready for more motoring action with us come September (that's correct, isn't it?)

Stay in touch when you can...

Haemish.
