Help request for DCMMers with larger vehicles

Hey everyone,

Sally and I have a unique problem that only MINI owners can understand without ridicule! Some time ago, I had a number of items framed by Sally at her work for my house. Amongst the many items were two special ones - my MINI build sheet and a very large 3' x 4' poster.

Unfortunately, while the build sheet and other items have now been transported back to my place in Virginia, the large poster simply does NOT fit in a MINI... even with both front seats moved ALL the way forward! Even though I own another vehicle too, a Mustang, it doesn't fit in it either!

We are hoping that one of you kind souls who also owns a larger vehicle would be able to help. The poster is currently at Sally's house in Columbia, MD - a coworker of hers helped her get it there from her work (which is nearby). I am hoping that one of you will meet the following possible scenarios:

1) Virginia DCMM member who plans to attend a non-driving (i.e. social) event in MD...

OR

2) Maryland DCMM member who plans to attend a non-driving (i.e. social) event in VA...

...and doesn't mind NOT bringing their MINI to the social event! That way, the whole "kill two birds with one stone" theory could apply, and maybe this poster can actually get to my house in Annandale, VA somehow, with small detours in MD and VA, of course!

Can anyone help? I will buy lunch (or dinner, as appropriate) for the person who is so kind as to solve this one-time and very awkward problem!

Thanks so much...

Haemish (and Sally)

I'm sure I could help you out.

They'll fit in the van on the bed no problem.

You don't live too, too far away from me. If you'd like, and if you've driven something that size before you could just come by and borrow my van when convenient...

That's awesome, Alan & Mark... appreciate the offers. Alan, since the Explorer isn't your car, I will probably take up Mark's offer... I just feel more comfortable that way.

Transfer complete!

Borrowed Mark's van (it's HUGE - a true "land yacht") yesterday, drove to Sally's, picked the framed poster up (measured with the frame... 3' 4" x 4' 4"), transported it to my place, gassed up the van and returned it.

Thanks Mark - I truly appreciate it... dinner on me sometime soon.
