I am resigning

I hate to have to say this, but in order for the club to move forward, I must.

As of this date, I am resigning as interim president and elected vice president. I am also relinquishing any responsibilities entailed therein. My reasons for doing so are private.

I am also withdrawing from the position of overall co-ordinator of MOTD 2006. I worked my butt off in the last two Dragons, and I have decided that I'd like to simply participate in this one. The chairs of MOTD 2006 can appoint someone to fill the vacant position if they see fit.

The remaining DCMM board members need to call an emergency meeting to elect people for the vacant positions ASAP.

Members: if you feel you have the time, experience, fortitude, and enthusiasm, then please put your name on the ballot.

I shall continue to be a member of DCMM.

Best wishes and good luck

Katie Williams

Katie - your work has been much appreciated and I'm glad you'll be remaining with the group!

We'll figure out the elections - I'm assuming we need to hold them as soon as possible after January 1 - that way we get everyone back from the holidays.

The best way to get disenchanted with an organization is to join it......the second best way is to lead it. Best of luck and thank you for all you have done.

Very sorry to hear this , In the short time I've been in the club and since you have been president, I though you did a great job. Glad to hear you will still be a member.

Thank-you for all your hard work and your obvious caring for our club. I hope you have a well deserved rest this holiday and look foward to seeing you in the new year.

Katie, you've done a fine job gal!!

Most people DO NOT realize how much work it takes to keep a club together and going. All they see is the end result which is the fun that takes place...

We all wish the best for DCMM and I'm sure there are LOTS of MINI peeps out there that will step up - put their names on the ballot to be elected

By the way Katie - have a great time in Florida! You sure you don't want to come out here???

Donna

Uhh, isn't there something in the bylaws about the President having to move to California should they depart their term early

Or does that jsut apply to Presidents whose first name is Michael?

Is there something in the Bylaws which says we have to accept your resignation

Katie, being an ex-event coordinator, I know exactly how you feel. It was fun yet very time consuming. I wish you much enjoyment in running the Dragon as a participant. :-)

Being a current event coordinator, I feel your pain!! You don't really understand how much goes into a club until you're knee deep in it!! (And that's an understatement!)

(BTW, if you do go to Cali, I got dibs on your house!)
