Tint removal
Tint removal
I'm a new Mini owner and new to this forum -- did my intro already.
I bought my '03 MCS out of state and drove it back here this past weekend. I absolutely love it. I took it today to get it inspected at the DC DMV. They did not like the tinted windows. I didn't think they were all that bad, but who am I to say? I have never really dealt with tinted windows and the windows were not the reason I bought the car. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to get the tint removed..as well as how much it costs (if anyone knows, just for my own info)? The tint's on the sides and back.
It has to be done and I'm gonna do it in the next week or so. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Kevin

When I was having mine tinted, they were taking off some old tint on a bimmer.
Both are recommended, though likely far from you. You could look-up a tint-shop closer to DC as well, and seek them out for help, since it's just removal and not application.
Also, DC law says 50% tint on front sides & rear, and 35% on back sides. Anything higher than 35% tint is kind of pointless. :/
Do you know what the % is on there now?

Or just....
Or just leave it on there and when you get pulled over..
.. roll your windows down all the way before the cop even comes to the car. I have done this on all my cars and as long as the cop can see you, they wont care about the windows.

As far as the %, I have no idea. It doesn't look that bad. But, I really don't wanna argue with the guy at DMV and it's not important enough to me to fight it.
I'll get it done in the next week or so.
I'm still loving the car and I'll try to get pics of it up before Christmas.
