WHAT: Lunch Fixed menu -it'll be less than $15.00/person
WHEN: SUNDAY NOV. 6 12:30 PM
WHERE: House of Dynasty
7750 Telegraph Road.
Alexandria, VA 22310
703- 922-5210
WHO: Any new and old(?) DCMM members who want to positively contribute to the club.
R.S.V.P. no later that NOV. 4th.
As the new president of DCMM, I would like to see more members involved with the nut&bolts of the club.
While the social events, including the Dragon, are a ton of fun and a great way for members to socialize, it takes a lot of hard work for these events to come off as well as they do.
Up til now, most of the work has been done by a very dedicated few volunteers...all of whom have my undying appreciation.
My goal is to try to get members involved in these processes as well. I would also like to update the web site, and need help in that dept.
I would like to see lots of folks show up for this. This is an opportunity to put your individual skills to work for the benefit of DC Metro MINIS.
Please join me, won't you?

This Is Wonderful!
I wanted to post this offer, because (A) this is the kind of concrete offers of assistence to the club I'm looking for, and (B) I just am so excited about it!
Jen, as Byron and Sue said, this is in no way casting a shadow on your efforts, but rather..one less thing for you to do. My printer was probably worse when I did membership cards....in fact, it was my printer that did the Schulten's cards...ack!
Offer to Help
Katie,
Although we live way up here in Cumberland, we enjoy the times we get to join you all for some of the runs. In thinking of some way we could contribute to the club's operations, one way would be to take care of producing the ID cards. We are both retired now from Cumberland PD, but still operate a law enforcement software development business. For the past decade, we have produced laminated ID cards for the police department, the Allegany County Board of Education (all employee ID's), Bishop Walsh High School employees and have created thousands of kid's safety ID cards, which are part of Cumberland PD's public awareness campaign.
We have several high quality printers and laminating equipment here and can do the whole job.
We'd be happy to donate the time to do this, and might take some of the burden off Jen.
If you would like to see a sample, all you'd have to do is e-mail me a copy of the DCMM logo and the background used on the front of the card and I'll make a card and mail it to you. I'm SURE we can produce a much higher quality card than the last ones we received
.
We're sending this to you privately rather than posting it, because we certainly don't want to imply that Jen's cards aren't adequate. Hopefully, this would help her out.
We can't make the upcoming meeting, but wanted to make this offer to you if it would help.
Take Care,
Byron & Sue Schulten

That is AWESOME! To follow on from Bruce's post...
May I immediately suggest that all new ID cards include space or a place for a NAM username and maybe a MINI2 username as well... Paul had the right idea when he added them both to his ID card with his special "white on clear" label tape.
It just makes more sense - easier to ID someone that you've talked to online.

If you have to leave by 2, that'll only give you an hour or so to eat, participate in brainstorming and any socializing. That's not a lot of time, so be prepared to chime in with any ideas you might have, early on.

You have to be commited
Pardon my senior brain...
